Something handed down that is a memory source, something that we so want to keep, but the appearance just doesn’t quite do it for us anymore? Upgrading a treasured item is a fabulous way to honor someone’s memory. Driftwood Blue Designs: Revived Chest

http://driftwoodblue.blogspot.com/2012/05/revived-chest.html

Friday, May 4, 2012. After sanding, I realized that the blue was not coming off without more chemical stripping, which I prefer not to do. So I made sure it was smooth and started painting. Jump ahead, the painting, distressing and waxing completed. Realize that it just doesn’t look right. See the bottom trim in the left picture (lid is to the right in the pic)? That should not sit directly on the floor, right? So to the internet I went, armed with a pic of the manufacturer stamp on the inside lid. Simpl...

Driftwood Blue Designs: Such a CUTE table!

http://driftwoodblue.blogspot.com/2012/02/such-cute-table.html

Thursday, February 2, 2012. Such a CUTE table! Okay, so let’s see how well this works. Natalie over at Vintage Revivals said to try this Windows Live Writer, so I promptly downloaded it. Way cool that you have SO many more fonts to choose from plus the fact you can watermark your pics way easier than that photoshop/painshop/whatever that just annoyed the heck out of me. So I am experimenting with this post to see how well this thing works. There is some lovely chippiness on the drawe. R front and the sid...

Driftwood Blue Designs: Playing Catch-up!

http://driftwoodblue.blogspot.com/2012/05/playing-catch-up.html

Tuesday, May 1, 2012. Wow, it has been a while since a post. Yeah. I’ve had stuff, just like everyone has. I’m not special and I won’t bore you with it. I really need to share some furniture with you instead! My friend (and picker) discovered three tables in one remote location in North Georgia back in the fall. I didn’t even have room for these tables til we moved to the house in December. Finally painted one of them for MY dining room. That was first. Of course, I had to pick the. And here is the after!

Thursday, September 22, 2011. Tybee island 2011: part 2. So this is the short [ha! Of the long, of the rest of the trip. Sunday we slept as long as c and emily. you know at least 8 am. ha! It rained the night before so everything outside was wet. wet items while camping, sucks! But we made the best of it, showered, ate breakfast, and headed to savannah. Goal: don't get wet. We found a free parking spot in front of a fire station. it stopped raining[thank god] and we huffed it. We stopped 4 places. Needle...

Thursday, September 22, 2011. Emily started dance this week. she's growing up so much. she's in a class with several friends so there was no chance of her being shy. hiding behind my leg or anything. she was just so excited to be there. Her teacher is the most patient soul and said emily was wonderful in class. [i missed the memo for her to wear tights. it's on the list for next week. ha! She woke up the next morning and said, "mommy, can you sign me up for more ballerina classes? Goal: don't get wet.
