Can't win for losing??: ihateomaha

Can't win for losing? I have been fortunate enough to live in other metro markets, and am besides myself in Omaha. Questions I continue to ask:. Why do I pay close to 3% on personal property taxes for my home when I paid no more than 1% in other metro markets (better ones) and in good parts of those markets? Think about the amount that means! Based upon a $200,000 home: Omaha: $6,000/yr versus 1% markets: $2,000/yr. That's a $4k difference ( $333/mnth)? Where does that money go? I miss real metro markets...

How much do I hate thee? Let me count the ways in no particular order. You are pretentious enough to have a Fashion Week. Are you kiddin' me? Paris Milan. Omaha! You spent millions of dollars on a pedestrian bridge while you turn your backs on one of the poorest black communities in the country. Excessive force from the OPD consistently being investigated and excused. The Old Market on weekends and the drunk bitches and frat boys who prowl, puke and piss on it. The Clones west of 72nd. Who's Driving?
Saturday, June 30, 2012. I'm almost forty. My age isn't a big deal for me; I'm not one of those people that hides it or even cares. In a couple of years, give or take, I'll have been on this lovely planet for four whole decades. Why does that matter? I feel like I should be smarter by now. This week, I learned a couple things in spite of myself. Right where he belongs. I can convince him he wants to interact! Because I was not listening to what he was clearly saying. He loves me so much! Because after a ...
