Prof Ghanashyam Dash (1902 - 1959), father of Late Mrs Ila Panda, was a scholar and historian of international repute. After graduating from London University he was associated with several educational institutions in Odisha including Ravenshaw College as a Professor and Gangadhar Meher College and Fakir Mohan College as Principal.
