e-i-e-i-omg!: November 2014
http://e-i-e-i-omg-bybiddie.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Middle-aged homesteader meets reality. Sunday, November 30, 2014. Well, the ocean's blue, ain't it? Being frugal and prone to use every last scrap of everything can have interesting consequences. Besides being way ahead of the gourmands on the fusion front, it can lead to rather spectacular results. Take my dinner last night. I would make seafood chowder for dinner! The photograph doesn't do it justice. While I thoroughly enjoyed both the flavor and color, I was also glad I didn't have company for dinner.
e-i-e-i-omg!: March 2015
http://e-i-e-i-omg-bybiddie.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Middle-aged homesteader meets reality. Monday, March 30, 2015. It's times like this. I darted out (at 1 mph) on Sunday to pick up my chicks from Farmer Nina - warding her off and feeling like Typhoid Mary. Her husband was home and as he stuck out his hand to shake mine, he caught the labored breathing and loud wheezing and quickly drew it back. I was not offended. Will I have to heat it while soaking? If so, I doubt if I would have time to a) work full time and b) bring this behemoth to a boil once, let ...
e-i-e-i-omg!: Mind the Gap!
http://e-i-e-i-omg-bybiddie.blogspot.com/2015/05/mind-gap.html
Middle-aged homesteader meets reality. Thursday, May 21, 2015. Interestingly, that is the strongest memory I have of my trip to London. The polite warning on the Tube. And of course, Harrod's Food Court. Lawsymercy. And, yes, there will be lots of poop. There is always lots of poop. Chicken coop must be cleaned. My sister's little flock of three must be melded into the flock with the minimum of bloodshed. The run-in shed must be cleaned out. The yard sale must go on. May 21, 2015 at 4:47 PM. Things I wis...
e-i-e-i-omg!: All hail, Sprummer!
http://e-i-e-i-omg-bybiddie.blogspot.com/2015/05/all-hail-sprummer.html
Middle-aged homesteader meets reality. Monday, May 18, 2015. All hail, Sprummer! It's wackier than usual, this weather. Frost one night, high 80s and humid the next day. It is wreaking havoc with my gardening schedule. Plus there's the fact that we have had no measurable rain in almost a month. All righty, then. I'm thinking I might have found the next Chia Pet - Hula Lady! I have finally decided that I need an intervention. And where is my chief interventionist? May 18, 2015 at 12:52 PM. I know what you...
e-i-e-i-omg!: Something had to give.
http://e-i-e-i-omg-bybiddie.blogspot.com/2015/05/something-had-to-give.html
Middle-aged homesteader meets reality. Thursday, May 14, 2015. Something had to give. You would think that, given I rise before dawn, I would have loads of time to get things done. Tain't so. I end up getting involved in one project or another then have to dash around. This morning I had to deal with our overnight frost - yes, isn't that special? I was not entirely suprised, then, when I arrived at work looking like I had dressed in the dark and put my hair in a blender. May 14, 2015 at 11:22 AM. Im thin...

Many things happen on Ponderosa Lane. follow me. Sunday, April 5, 2015. Have a Happy Easter Bunny Day . and more seriously, have a Wonderful Easter Sunday. I wish I could be in Texas with my family to celebrate this High Holy Day. I miss them, but they are all in my heart. It can't hurt . It's snowing outside and the temp sits at 32 . nothing is sticking of course, but it is COLD. Thankfully there is only a slight, slight breeze, but it is still cold air moving around. Brrrrr! Kayten's Spin: January 2012
http://kaytenspin.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Observations on life, events, joys, and sorrows. Just remember, occasionally the spindle drops, and I may need to spit splice. Friday, January 27, 2012. Ok, I'll Try Again. Has convinced me that I should resume blogging. I've had a long haul with a thumb injury since last November, and hadn't posted for the prior year. Perhaps this will get my mojo for this year going:. Kayten's Spin: If I Were Organized, It Would Help
http://kaytenspin.blogspot.com/2010/05/if-i-were-organized-it-would-help.html
Observations on life, events, joys, and sorrows. Just remember, occasionally the spindle drops, and I may need to spit splice. Friday, May 21, 2010. If I Were Organized, It Would Help. This is what the sidewalk in front of my porch looks like as of this morning. It should have looked like this as of a few weeks ago. This is always the way it is when I am getting ready for a show. The MA Sheep and Wool. Here's some superwash perking away. Yet, I did dye about twenty-five pounds of stuff today, and managed...
4 acres and a stream: October 2014
http://4acresandastream.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
4 acres and a stream. Wednesday, October 29, 2014. Gardening in Late October. We still have fall gold raspberries! And many, not just a few here and there. I need to cut them back but I am waiting for frost. I may start cutting some back now and give the goats a treat. The peppers are also going strong, as well as the marigolds and, of course, the swiss chard. I don't remember the garden looking this great this late in the season. Monday, October 27, 2014. Working on More Firewood. We were able to back t...

The Jack Creek Coyles: 2011-04-10
http://thejackcreekcoyles.blogspot.com/2011_04_10_archive.html
The Jack Creek Coyles. The last best place. Above all, try something. Franklin D. Roosevelt. Saturday, April 16, 2011. Hey there. Katie here. First off, sorry about this month and the lack of communication via blog. I am finally taking the leap and starting my own art school for children here in Ennis, and my life has been a whirlwind of crazy lately. That said, the action has been few and far between with these dang goats! What do you think? Pregnant, or just finally up to size? Also, our sister herd, i...
Kayten's Spin: June 2010
http://kaytenspin.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Observations on life, events, joys, and sorrows. Just remember, occasionally the spindle drops, and I may need to spit splice. Tuesday, June 1, 2010. Last week I had a terrible cold with a fever. I spent most of the week lamenting that I, as usual, had procrastinated in preparing for my upcoming show, the MA Sheep and Wool. Dyeing was, for the most part, out of the question, but I did manage to complete a prototype from Phoebe's Sweater. Links to this post. MA Sheep and Wool. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Observations on life, events, joys, and sorrows. Just remember, occasionally the spindle drops, and I may need to spit splice. Thursday, October 21, 2010. Done Languishing and Yarn Alert. First, the yarn alert:. If you or anyone you know purchased worsted yarn at our booth, Sliver Moon Farm, at Rhinebeck or Southern Adirondack, marked ‘Worsted 100% superwash BFL wool, 250 gram’, it is NOT superwash. I trust the people who sold me the yarn. It is just an unfortunate situation. Yet another friend Susan.

Middle-aged homesteader meets reality. Monday, March 19, 2018. Actually, it is already quite apparent that there is a lot of damage - the oven fan vent is gone. The two bathroom fan vents are totaled. The fresh air intake pipes are toast. Sigh. Exactly how I feel, Peanuttier. I am so happy for her and am glad I was the first step in her journey to her forever home. She was such a hit at the adoption clinic with the store staff, that they gave her a spa treatment - bath, ears and nails! 75# of lovable dog.
