These drawings are original European sketches of Native America. They were colored and published at different times over the centuries. Most of these were published in 1590 by Theodore de Bry. A book called The New World. Sir Francis Drake's New World, 1586. Sebastian Munster's 1544 New World Map. Explorers found Native Americans living at places which are cities. Again today. Native places in fourteen States are presented HERE.

Cabeza de Vaca was the first European to describe North America from Florida through Arizona. For eight years from 1528 on. His 1542 works are the oldest history we have of that area. He set the stage for the Conquest of Native America. This site explains his journey based on his translated narration. That translation, ANNOTATED. On April 17th, 1540, by fording the Savannah River's branches (river pictured below) 20 miles below Augusta at today's Atomic Energy Commission Nuclear Waste site. He (DeSoto) took corn (from Patofa. Near Waynesboro, Georgia) for four days and marched for six days (into South Carolina, described below) along a path which gradually grew narrower until it was lost.
