We made it to the summit of Katahdin, just as the clouds opened with a torrential downpour, while gale force winds began to blow. We did not linger on the summit for very long. We descended rapidly to the sanctuary of our lean-to at Katahdin Stream to prepare for our entry into the famous 100 Mile Wilderness tomorrow. Karen starting a fire on our first night at Katahdin Stream Campground.
