Early Amusement Parks of Orange County: December 2009
http://earlyamusementparksoforangecounty.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Early Amusement Parks of Orange County. Images from my personal collection. Thursday, December 31, 2009. About this time I went to see Walter Knott about putting a couple of amusement rides in his park. At the time he didn't see much value in putting in a couple of rides. He wanted to keep Knott's Berry Farm as a ghost town and he could not visualize it any other way. I knew Walter because I went to school with his daughters and got to know the family. GORILLAS DON'T BLOG: Matterhorn.... OF DEATH! - January 1965
http://gorillasdontblog.blogspot.com/2015/05/matterhorn-of-death-january-1965.html
This blog has nothing to do with gorillas (though I love 'em).fellow bloggers have inspired me to share vintage images of Disneyland from my personal collection. But don't be surprised if you see something from a World's Fair, Knott's Berry Farm, or someplace else that is cool! Sunday, May 17, 2015. Matterhorn. OF DEATH! I have used almost all of the strangely dark, soft-focus pictures from January 1965; almost. Have you ever seen the Matterhorn look more ominous and haunted as it does here? Dark, myster...
Let's Talk Knott's: May 2010
http://letstalkknotts.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 7, 2010. The Boys Are Back In Town. Heading into Ghost Town the other day I was pleasantly surprised to see Handsome Brady and Whiskey Bill sitting in their rightful place on the side of the Gold Trails Hotel. The last time I saw these two was over a year ago when they sat on a bench near the exit of the Calico Railway Station. They appear to be well rested and freshly touched up for a hopefully extended stay this time around! Does anyone know the origins of these two? It's good to see some o...

Thursday, June 25, 2009. Farm Report - Father's Day 2009. I went out to the farm for father’s day last weekend and decided that an updated post was in order. They have restored some more details on the peek-ins since my last visit. The Barber shop now has a pole and lettering on the window and more artifacts have been returned to the interior of the Silver Dollar Saloon (Oops! I mean shooting gallery). A blurry shot looking in the door from the front porch. Little corner of ghost town. Stuff From The Park.

http://letstalkknotts.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 26, 2009. It has been a crazy summer! I intend on resuming a somewhat regular posting schedule very soon. Now that I have a scanner I can dig into my post card collection for Blog topics! For today we'll start with this wonderful Paul Von Klieben post card of main street. I am heading out to the farm Saturday for Jay Jennings book signing. I am looking very forward to it and hope to meet some fellow Knott's enthusiasts! That's all for now. Will post again soon! Let's Talk Knott's: Then & Now (Part 2)
http://letstalkknotts.blogspot.com/2010/04/then-now-part-2.html
Saturday, April 17, 2010. Then and Now (Part 2). Today's post features more Then and Now postcard comparisons. First off is the Old Mill Stream seen here with running water from the early days of the farm. And here is the same scene today. Hard to believe that this scene is only a generation away from being a century old. I wonder if it will make it to that milepost. Here is an early postcard showing the Adobe Walls on Market Street. And here are those same Adobe Walls today. Goldie's as she looks today&...
