Early Onset Alzheimer's - Encourage, Inspire, and Inform: Once in a Blue Moon
http://earlyonset.blogspot.com/2015/08/once-in-blue-moon.html
Saturday, August 1, 2015. Once in a Blue Moon. Photo by L.S. Fisher, color enhanced. There’s been a lot of talk about blue moons lately. 8220;Why is the moon going to turn blue? 8221; my granddaughter asked a few weeks ago when we were talking about the upcoming blue moon. Her mom explained that a “blue” moon had nothing to do with color and meant two full moons occur in one month. Something we don’t like to do and put off. We’ve gotten out of the habit. Maybe in reality, it is fine for some things to ha...

Wednesday, November 19, 2014. November is Caregivers Month: Caregiving Isn’t for Sissies. November is Caregivers Month, and I thought it was a good time to share my caregiver story. We finally gained financial security and built our home. Just as we thought life was going to be easier for us, Jim began to have cognitive glitches shortly aft...

Alzheimer's is a Bitch: June 2011
http://alzheimersinvades.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Alzheimer's is a Bitch. Monday, June 27, 2011. I posted on my regular blog some of the things on my mind lately regarding Mom and Alzheimers. I'm more selective about what I say there, but wondering if it's time to combine these two blogs. Do any of you keep the Alzheimer's stuff seperate from your other writing? If only it were so easy to categorize the hard stuff in other areas of life. Http:/ emuf.blogspot.com/2011/06/loving-mom.html. Links to this post. Saturday, June 4, 2011. Links to this post.

Alzheimer's is a Bitch: January 2011
http://alzheimersinvades.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Alzheimer's is a Bitch. Monday, January 31, 2011. Mom’s 58th birthday was last week so my sister and I took her out for lunch. There’s strength in numbers. I told my sister recently that I wish I was as patient as she is with Mom. Sis takes it all in stride and smiles and soothes and makes Mom feel comfortable. I cringe and avoid eye contact and bite my tongue to keep from crying. My sister told me that her patience took practice. We said goodbye to Dad around 2:30pm and I said, "don't wait up! Mom frown...

http://stasweet.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Letters to my mom who had Alzheimer's. Though she passed August 10, 2012, I'm still going to write to her and share with her. Sunday, July 29, 2012. The Ups and Downs. It's definitely been an interesting time. Auntie finally left last Friday, I think. It was nice to have the house back, but it was really different because then it was just us! I was so glad to be able to spend time with them! Cousin Patty had a party for Auntie Alberta on Tuesday for her 88th birthday. It was another nice night! It's 10:4...

Click here to view Caregiver Emotions Presentation. Sunday, March 18, 2018. No Use Crying Over Spilt Coffee. I don’t even like to talk before I have my first cup of coffee in the mornings. I like it hot with creamer in it and usually drink a half cup at a time. My husband, on the other hand, only drinks black coffee from his 16-ounce Mr. Coffee mug. Instead of crying over the spilt coffee, I said a few choice words, wiped off the refrigerator, grabbed a mop, and went to work cleaning up the mess. It is o...
