Sunday, April 27, 2014. Finley and the Slide. He continued to cry as I was carrying him towards the car and my heart was totally broken. I hated hearing him cry for the slide and there was nothing I could do. All I was doing was protecting him from burning himself but he didn't know that. I recovered quickly because I remembered the little football that the police gave him where the trucks were and we played with the football and he forgot about the slide. Friday, May 9, 2014. I Miss My Mother. I am very fortunate to have had my Mother around up until a few years ago. She made it to age 89 which was pretty incredible considering some of the illnesses she had over her life. My Dad passed away when she was only 49 years old. At the time it seemed old because I was only 16. I look back with a different perspective since I am 59 years old now. This Sunday is Mother's Day. I feel very blessed to have had her as my mother. Sunday, June 28, 2015. Marriage, a flag and Poppy. My favorite thing that happened last week was every morning, Finley would slowly come down the stairs and quietly say "Hi, Poppy." Then, he crawled into my lap and snuggled for a while and would always say "I love you, Poppy." There is nothing, no nothing better than that. I can't explain the joy it brings to me. He is so loving and it pleases me. What does this have to do with a week full of news about marriage and a flag? June 28, 2015 at 9:16 PM.

Tuesday, March 25, 2014. In my previous blog, I talked about learning to trust in God. It's hard to totally trust in Him because there are many things that He expects us to do on our own. I discuss this in my book, All My Strength. God will not force us or even help us to love our neighbor. We have to do it. When it comes to trusting Him, there is a line between the things He expects us to do on our own and the things that He will help us with. Sometimes, I struggle with that. View my complete profile.

Thursday, August 14, 2014. This December, I turn 60. You want to know something? I am not depressed about it one bit. In fact, I am very excited about life in my 60s. I didn't like turning 40 or 50 but 60 is not bothering me.seriously! For one thing, I am more healthy and fit today than when I was 30 and maybe even 20. I don't know how I will feel about turning 70 but it beats the alternative of not reaching it. I will see my grandboys go from 2 and 3 to 12 and 13. Wow! It is going to be exciting!
