The Carter Family: Folk pioneers singing traditional mountain music. Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer. Promising folk duet stilled in their prime. Put out three brilliant folk albums before Dave's untimely passing in mid-2002. And they're from Virginia. Our land, and Woody deserves some of the credit.

AnodosSongs: August 2008
http://songs.travelsofanodos.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 8, 2008. This song is based on a journal I wrote at Trinity Forum Academy. About a walk through Central Park after a Tim Keller sermon on how the Gospel story is the true tale that all other stories point to (I've got it up on my blog here. I originally conceived it as a song, which I started writing at the Academy but never finished - I finally finished the lyrics on a long flight from Asia. This a demo recording I did on GarageBand. Words and music by David. Down the forgotten grand stair.

Be of cheek. Don't suck. Way, way too relevant to my work life. From Randall Munroe's xkcd.com. That guy has a great sense of humour. 19 December, 2008 08:51. Ha I just posted another one moments ago. 19 December, 2008 17:35. Archive for the 'misc' Category. Can’t believe how much time has passed since my last blog post. Life has been busy! So, it is fitting that I slow down today for just long enough to tip my hat to Mother Earth. My favorite Earth Day to date was a few years ago when I decided to go on a whale watch through the New England Aquarium. It was a cool and cloudy day but we got to see some North Atlantic right whales! And health problems for people on the Gulf Coast. So, yeah, we’ve got some problems. M...I won&#...

The Chronicles of Garnabus: October 2006
http://garnabus.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
The Chronicles of Garnabus. Thursday, October 26, 2006. Ginger loves to play tag =o). I did discover that she eventually gets a little frustrated when she can't predict what side I'll come out on - she gives a cute little grunt of exasperation (then I know I've tricked her too many times and I let her win). Posted by Garnabus @ 10:49 PM. Wednesday, October 25, 2006. OH was a good trip overall. but not without it's difficulties. I arrived a day later, to a frazzled and stressed Fuego. Since she then calle...

Engineering Dinner: April 2013
http://blog.engineeringdinner.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 28, 2013. The Week Ahead. 4/29/2013. Menu for the Week of April 29th. Monday: Curried Spinach and Chickpeas. With rice (sweet potato for me). Thursday, April 18, 2013. Mister Rogers and Broccoli Apple Slaw. This recipe was inspired by a kohlrabi-apple slaw in Nourishing Meals. My grocery store did not have kohlrabi, so I used broccoli. I've changed the flavor profile of the dressing to accommodate the broccoli and dried cranberries. This holds for a few days in the refrigerator. We were hom...
