Http:/ www.thenewslens.com/post/3981/. 東非國家坦尚尼亞 Tanzania 有四千多萬的人口，因政府缺乏資金無力舖設 最後一哩 的電力網絡到每戶家庭，導致80 的人雖住在電力網絡的5公里內，卻只有14 的家庭有電力供應，七百萬戶家庭仍無電可用。 可怕的是，煤油燈會釋放碳粉，對健康 等於一天抽兩包煙，會引起呼吸道 疾病及肺癌 及環境 排放CO2造成溫室效應 都有嚴重的傷害。 當電力耗盡，再拿回充電站 提供電池充電及更換服務 或電池供應站 主要 為當地商店，只提供電池更換，不提供充電服務 換取新電池，以 可攜式電力網 portable grid 的方式滿足民眾對電力之基本需求。 該電池租賃系統首次裝機費約1200元台幣 含到府安裝3個LED燈具、手機充電器及收音機插座 ，之後每月支付140元台幣月費，換一次電池酌收 12元台幣，一顆電池約可讓一戶家庭使用5至７天。
