Drawing Room & Hall. Bedrooms & Bathrooms. Eggleston is the perfect location for a private shooting party. The Georgian house is set overlooking the river Tees in the heart of the grouse shooting moors of the North Pennines. The Hall is a family house and there are 9 bedrooms available for shooting guests (with a minimum party number of 7 guests). All bedrooms have their own bath or shower room. Café & Tearoom Menu. There has been a house on the site since the 1600’s when Tobias Ewbank purchased the manor from John Child. The land had been forfeited by the last Earl of Westmoreland, who had been found guilty of high treason following the Rising of the North against Queen Elizabeth 1 in 1569.
