Ringing on Roan Islands. Sunday, 7 April 2013. A straggler and a new one. 04082012 Sanda Island, Kintyre, Argyll and Bute. 368 days 373km 192deg. A new species of Storm-Petrel. Discovered by Seamus Enright and Michael O'Keefe off the coast of Chile in 2009 it has just been declared a new species. DNA samples and feathers have just been 'recovered' from birds recently caught and, once completed, the next step will be to find out more about these birds. See Brisitish Birds April 2013 p187.
