Wednesday, October 28, 2009. Last weekend after a quick trip to Meridian, we also went to Provo. Spencer's side of the family meets up for BYU Homecoming every year. We get to see Grandma and Grandpa Ray and about half of his 88 cousins, with their spouses and occasionally a child or 35. Yesterday I had a few minutes before my photo session started and wanted to make sure that everything was ready. I got all three kids to hold still for enough time to take the pic. Never mind that face that they all have homeless people hair, they are looking in the right direction and aren't crying. We will always remember taking this pic on Spencer's 32nd birthday. Or Nicholas' ability to climb. But nothing could have prepared me for Eliana this morning. In her cute little voice she said, "Mom, I have pockets in my pants. Pockets can hold things. I told him Ellie was a girl and asked if she could come in. He said, "No girls allowed." I told him I was a girl and asked if I could come in. He said, "The person that cleans my room can come in when it's messy.". At two and almost four years old, how can the innocence be gone? And how am I going to survive their teenage years? Boy can I relate!
