This speech was important at this time because it was 6 months after the bloodiest battle in the Civil War, Battle of Gettysburg. This was a positive speech about everyone coming together. This upsets a lot of people because they don't want to pay more to get a good doctor. It's possible medical plans could change to a lower standard because the government doesn't have money to pay for good health care plans. I agree.
