Friday, May 10, 2013. The dragons fluke like a gauntlet choke. Memorizing the tornado through its ghastly. Rasping voice, gasping for the air that flies it. Its wings caught as low winds fall behind. Tighter the noose of clouds singing, while. Choice plays center stage and is guilt thereof. Of saying yes to the no's and no to the yes'. I asked her about Gideon and she smiled. That wry little smile that lovers hold aside. Hoping for a God damn winner of ecclesiastical. And moonbeams inside a woman's secret.

Written Word: November 2010

http://www.emilyhassellthespokenword.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

Sunday, November 28, 2010. Leave me alone with God. Lift me from this fallen sky. Ashes of these burnt fires. My eyes still see it as they did. When I was a child- why dont people believe it is possible? God's true gift in me to see what few others do. I am told not to see it by my world, these everyday practices dont want it. Posted by Emily Hassell. Sunday, November 21, 2010. An old one from an email to a friend Feb 2009. Choose lovers that are impossible? I kick myself in the ass. Of the wayside Heart.

Sunday, March 20, 2011. फर्स्ट try. Posted by Emily Hassell. Sunday, March 13, 2011. My tower, my vast and broken dream. My river, resounding in its scream. My coffin, buried in the endless game. My face, constant dull ignoring pain. My streets, bare charred and black. My soul, turning from its sunken back. My child, rising naked out of shame. My innocence, gone without my blame. My sunset, nevermore returning red. My sight, blinded by the fading night. My distance, surrounded by the shade.

Written Word: Mystery

http://www.emilyhassellthespokenword.blogspot.com/2011/11/mystery.html

Wednesday, November 23, 2011. Mystery I want to swing in you. Holding the tidings of unknown. There upon my tidings a floor. Dancing between the huddled. There and back again though younger. Touch inside the gracious newness. Of me that I never and always knew true. Unafraid to love again below the skin. Same as I trouble becomes prison free. To speak of selflessness anon. I give up throne wonder of speech. To show the one thing that holds me. My messenger so deeply you brown hair. Posted by Emily Hassell.

New Works

Monday, March 31, 2014. These two above belong to a triptych done in the fall of 2013. This is a one off so far though I thought to maybe expand on this technique. Her body is a second wood cut out, bolted on to the background board. This piece would also become one of the pieces from "Immemorial". Though I have thought Immemorial is a complete body of work already, I have found that pieces I make even now still fit the genre for that series. This is 4 ft x 4ft, and a one off. Emily Has Things

A record of my contributions to consumerism in this time of economic despair. Friday, May 21, 2010. Okay, I know girls have to love shoes, but for real- I love shoes. The thing is, I'm not super picky about my shoes. I don't spend a lot of money on single pairs of shoes, I just spend money on a lot of pairs of shoes. I collect shoes. I have always received compliments on my shoes. Shoes, cardigans, and headbands. Definition of style to me. 47 pairs of shoes! For each new pair, I must get rid of two.

Trusting the Love of God. March 9, 2018. Out sweet baby doesn’t know anything outside of what we tell her and what she experiences. At this point in time, here is what she knows (and sings proudly all the time):…. March 8, 2018. On Sunday morning, my toddler was that kid. She wasn’t feeling well. And, let’s add, that she’s only a year-and-some-change old. She needed sleep (like, up-for-an-hour-in-the-middle-of-the-night needed sleep) . She was likely hungry…. My Romans 16 List.
