About Emu Bay Lavender Farm. We farm two main varieties of Lavender, namely, Lavandula Angustifolia and Lavandula x Intermedia. These varieties are best used for aromatherapy or culinary uses. These varieties produce essential oil known as Lavender Oil. Lavender Oil is known to be relaxing and calming. Other terms for these varieties include:. Firstly, we have had to deal with attacks by grubs and caterpillars which destroy the fresh flower shoots by biting the stems and weakening them causing them to break off. We have also fought off various beetles and bugs. Emu Bay Lavender Season operates between mid September and mid May. 10am - 4.30pm , Wednesday - Sunday. OPEN DAILY during SA school holidays excluding July.
