The parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15) is filled with numerous object lessons about the Loving Father, and the unwise younger son who selfishly requested his inheritance and then wasted it all with nothing to show for it. Jesus told this parable to the religious leaders who criticized Jesus for his relationship with the "sinners" (younger brother) and how they were unworthy of the Father's love.
