Companies such as Apple encourage the use of emoticons because they offer certain ones that only their products have, and because most teenagers own at least one Apple product of course they will use emoticons without realising the ‘damage’. I think that using emoticons is harmless! As long as you know when not to use them, then what is the problem? Surely emoticons are just harmless fun?
