Sunday, October 19, 2014. Not the Way I Planned It. My first half marathon did not go as planned. The first ten miles were good – at times even great. I had an awesome running buddy in Eve and we kept a great pace. Still feeling good at mile ten. I know it may sound harsh, but I failed. My goal was to not walk and I did. My goal was to finish and I didn’t. I feel proud to be part of an amazing group of Moms. I think these are the same emotions I would have if I had finished and not failed. Moms on the Run.

Friday, July 18, 2014. Today you are five. This birthday feels like a really big deal to me. I think it’s because we are starting a whole new chapter in your life…you are no longer a toddler…you start kindergarten in the fall…and five just sounds so much. You memory continues to astound me – I can no longer beat you when we play memory, you correct me if I miss a word while reading your favorite books, and you have several books completely memorized including when to turn the pages. Sunday, November 10, 2013. Halloween this year was tons of fun! The girls loved dressing up and both of them loved trick or treating - this was the first year we left our cul-de-sac. I did a little research and found there were no costumes in our price range. We went trick-or-treating downtown with Shana, baby Avery and Marla. It was great because it was early in the afternoon and was still light out. There were lots more people out and about than I expected. These two best friends are so stinkin' cute.

To me she is a celebrity and I know it’s a bit crazy, but I have a goal of seeing her in her “natural habitat” like shopping at Festival Foods or pumping gas. Some day Judy Clark…some day…. Brownies topped with cookie dough (eh.not crazy about the particular recipe I found), and this evening (since I'm stuck at home getting over sinusitis/bronchitis anyway), I baked a very unique apple cake. The result? The finished cake after a visit to the powder room. 4-6 medium baking apples. 1/2 lemon; juiced and peel grated. 1 tsp baking powder.

We awoke to our first full day in Seoul with Joshua (and our last full day in Korea) to the sound of steady rain and signs of clouds outside our windows. We were a bit surprised, actually, since the weather for our entire time in Seoul to this point was quite sunny, nice, and comfortable. But hey - we can handle one rainy day during our trip!
