Idea Spout: October 2005
http://ideaspout.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_archive.html
A weblog about politics and culture from a libertarian perspective. Friday, October 28, 2005. Kill the laws, not the lawyers. I've heard "kill all the lawyers" jokes since I was a kid. "What do you call 100 dead lawyers? A good start." Heck, even the Eagles song "Get Over It" calls for such a cull. Is this the proper preoccupation of a productive society? Do we really need such a high proportion of the smartest among us dedicated to sorting out exactly how we use the state to bully and coerce each other?

The most powerful victims in California. Posted by Daniel @ 6:54 PM. Thursday, December 01, 2005. Too important to succeed. Sure there are thousands and thousands of citizens of industrialized nations who would be willing to pay a premium for such a blockbuster drug. But that wouldn't be fair to limp lovers in sub-Saharan Afric...

Idea Spout: April 2005
http://ideaspout.blogspot.com/2005_04_01_archive.html
A weblog about politics and culture from a libertarian perspective. Monday, April 18, 2005. The worst of both worlds. President Bush is insisting that Social Security is in a crisis. It's a problem, to be sure, but a relatively fixable and distant one. Social Security won't even have a deficit until 2018. Medicare, on the other hand, is already in the red. It's Medicare, not Social Security, that threatens our economy the most, as Fareed Zakaria argues in a recent column. America doesn't have the benefit...

They'll turn us all into beggars 'cause they're easier to please; They're feeding our people that Government Cheese. - The Rainmakers. Monday, January 08, 2007. Baseball Hall of Fame. Anywho, I turned in my ballot. Here is who I voted to induct into the Hall of Fame:. 6 Mark McGwire. McGwire is the controversy this year. Did he cheat? If Gaylord Perry, who did videos showing how he cheated, can be in the Hall, so can McGwire. His numbers can't be denied. Bert Blyleven also is a closer call. Perhaps t...

No Government Cheese: Foot In Mouth
http://nogovernmentcheese.blogspot.com/2007/10/foot-in-mouth.html
They'll turn us all into beggars 'cause they're easier to please; They're feeding our people that Government Cheese. - The Rainmakers. Saturday, October 27, 2007. Does anyone stick his foot in his mouth more often than Sen. Joe Biden? Maybe he should stick to plagerism. All of his original comments typically require his people to issue a clarification. So look, it goes back to what you start off with, what you're dealing with," Biden said. The retraction and re-explanation:. There is probably less than 4...

The Liberty Resource Center. I promised this; so here it is. This is what I have been working on for the past four months. The explanation is below; however, I will state right now that I did not write it, instead it was written before I came onto the project. For more info, visit the project forums. If you would like to check out the website so far, click here. What is Liberty Resource? There was no single place that someone who wanted to find out what conservatives or libertarians had to say about an i...

We Need A Fence! Momentum builds for fence along U.S.-Mexican border. By Mimi Hall, USA TODAY. A once-radical idea to build a 2,000-mile steel-and-wire fence on the U.S.-Mexican border is gaining momentum amid warnings that terrorists can easily sneak into the country. In Congress, a powerful Republican lawmaker this week proposed building such a fence across the entire border and two dozen other lawmakers signed on. And via the Internet, a group called weneedafence.com. Posted by Goggalor @ 20:36. This ...

Ladies (if you exist) and Gentlemen (if you exist), we are back. I want to apologize.profusely for my leave of absence. I just could not do it. I could not keep up with my competitors and this blog no longer became an outlet for my opinions, but an outlet for my overly competitive nature. And thus, I became tired of putting words on this here page. We have to catch up. Just joking. But, tell your friends. We are back. Posted by Goggalor @ 17:59. Therefore, there are only about two real and valid options, all others being attempts at Political Appeasement. These options are:. 1) Enforce immigration laws, such as the new bill that felonizes illegal immigrants. 2) Reform, or even get rid of most social programs such as public school and welfare. Unfortunately, option 2 is politically unviable, providing the best way to solve the solution. However, too many obstacles and too much opinion blocks that route. Option 1, is therefore the remainin...All r...
