May 29, 2013. It’s been six months since Tom died. I keep having the same dream. Someone who has died is alive. But I know in the dream that person is about to die. Most of the time, it’s Tom. I dream that his death was a mistake. He was not dead, just sleeping. He has now woken […]. May 23, 2013. May 17, 2013. The End of 2012. December 29, 2012. Tag Archives: just thinking. January 24, 2013. Well, our weather has finally figured out it’s winter. The morning air is frigid, and the heaters in the buildings at school operate at various levels of competency. One day, they’ll be full blast, and we’ll all be sweating, as we toss aside our scarves and roll up the sleeves of our sweaters. The next […]. June 13, 2012. Also tagged North Carolina. May 11, 2012. The Back Zapper ». April 6, 2009. Her baby whom she was struggling to care for, to feed. She told us she was ready to give Faida away, was ready to let her go, because she couldn’t handle watching her suffer anymore. She wants to talk to her mother. She wants to have someone to ask questions of, to tell stories to. I remember in college literature classes having discussions about whether or not humans were basically good or basically evil. Which one is our default? This entry was posted in Congo. Also, a...
January Continues
http://www.erinseaboltbond.com/2013/01/24/january-continues
November 2012 ». January 24, 2013. At home, Jesse and I continue our sriracha obsession, and I have discovered I like breakfast. We’ve been milk-and-cereal folks all our lives, but now we’re eating scrambled eggs with sriracha, egg sandwiches with avocado and sriracha, and breakfast burritos with–you guessed it–sriarcha. (On off days, we have oatmeal or Bob’s Mill seven-grain hot cereal…without sriracha, sadly.). This entry was posted in Life. And tagged just thinking. Or leave a trackback: Trackback URL.

December 2012 ». May 17, 2013. Something I’ve learned about grief: It’s not linear. It doesn’t dissolve in a smooth curve upward. Instead, it comes in fits and starts. Grief eases, gives you a break, a breather, and you think things are getting better, things are looking up, the sun has started to peek through the clouds, the frost is thawing, and then. Like the transition between winter and spring. I got the news by text message. What questions did I ask? What, really, does it matter? December 2012 &raq...

Analog Girl: October 2012
http://analog-girl-blog.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 20, 2012. The Year of Contextual Thinking. I'm continually surprised at how well classes fit together. In high school and middle school, I was so delighted that we studied world history at the same time as world literature in another class, U.S. history the same year as American literature. Totally different teachers! I eventually figured out they did that on purpose, and was no less delighted. Don't use too many illustrations about school or having young kids! Then comes Constantine...

But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare." - Jeremiah 29:7. Thursday, August 22, 2013. Things i've slept on. In the last ten weeks:. June 8: combination bench/leather couch, last day in my apartment in Pitesti. June 9-June 15: Hannah's top bunk, familia York. June 15-June 20: twin bed in Germany. June 21: plane, bench in a bus station in Istanbul, bus seat. June 25-29: dorm in Izmir, room 602.

But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare." - Jeremiah 29:7. Wednesday, December 19, 2012. I wrote this on the plane over here, in Romanian because it felt more private and none of the people next to me could read it. Forgive the mistakes. Anyway, because it's late and I needed reminding:. Chiar daca nu sunt eu -. Sunt convinsa ca dumnezeul meu e neschimbat. Ce sa fac cu asta? Links to this post.

But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare." - Jeremiah 29:7. Thursday, September 12, 2013. Kind of a different perspective than what I'm normally quoting around here but still so beautiful. How could our hearts be large enough for heaven if they are not large enough for earth? October 8, 2013 at 6:46 AM. From Mertons No Man Is an Island, chapter 6 (Asceticism and Sacrifice) 15 (p. 115). Yes, Yes, Yes.

But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare." - Jeremiah 29:7. Saturday, June 8, 2013. Sometimes human life can seem no more meaningful than a fish flopping on a shore. Writhing. Out of its element. And I would love to tell you that the real problem in life is we believe. Out of water, and if I want to find water again, I must go in search of a different kind of water. All. Links to this post. The oth...
Sut Nam Bonsai: White Lightning
http://sutnambonsai.blogspot.com/2014/06/white-lightning.html
Wednesday, June 25, 2014. It's late in Colorado and the Miller Moth migration is in full swing, in our living room. Samantha and Tim both take advantage of the late hour by cat-napping before bed. One of them mewls like a real kitten - can you guess which one? Tim asked that we close the front door as no self-respecting Midwesterner would be caught dead resting on purpose (although he made the crucial misstep of marrying someone so delighted by this fact she records it every chance she gets). I resigned ...
Sut Nam Bonsai: Terry Tempest Williams and the Mysteries of Voice
http://sutnambonsai.blogspot.com/2015/08/terry-tempest-williams-and-mysteries-of.html
Tuesday, August 11, 2015. Terry Tempest Williams and the Mysteries of Voice. Last night, I listened to Brad Listi interview Terry Tempest Williams on the podcast Other People. I've never read any Terry Tempest Williams, probably because Tim accidentally, preemptively ruined her for me when we were living in Arizona. And he was reading Refuge. Which he kept calling Refuse. Welcome to our shameless and irreverent household! Perhaps more importantly, was her mom just messing with her? In her interview with ...

But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare." - Jeremiah 29:7. Saturday, May 25, 2013. Some quotes I've liked (or were pretty) from the above book in the last couple of days:. For any homeless wanderer he is a miracle of instruction: now that he is exiled from every place on earth except a desert wilderness, he declares a passion for cactus.". It's by Barbara Kingsolver, by the way.). I do realize tha...

June 6, 2013. So, I’ve been doing yoga since the spring semester wrapped. And it always makes me think of San Francisco. While I was out there that month (two summers ago–two! I can’t believe it’s been that long), I took classes in a fading blue Victorian across the street from Golden Gate Park. I could walk there from my apartment. The studio was also a commune, and you could stay there after class to have a vegetarian meal with the yogis who lived there. It was very San Francisco. It was really lovely.
Sprinkle Cool Patience | The sporadic poetry of a deep thinker/hermit.
The sporadic poetry of a deep thinker/hermit. September 11, 2014. The word has plagued me –. Rolled through my mind. For weeks and stirred up. Emotions I cannot shake. The confusion, the anger,. The sadness caused by. That word –. It is time to let the hurt out. Who came up with such an. Unnatural, nonsensical word? Whole – meaning all, entire,. Some – meaning part,. Portion, piece, section…. One way or another. These two words come together. And suddenly it means. Good, clean, pure, family-friendly.

Simple Lessons of the Arts with Kids; A Homeschooling Mother's collection of Art, Photography, and God's Word. Sunday, December 6, 2009. To help my younger children practice drawing simple shapes I made up some very simple drawings of familiar objects using the most basic of shapes. This is a fun way of sneaking prewriting practice to a disinterested toddler. Colored Pencils or crayons. 1 Let the Student pick out a shape picture to draw. 3 Now for the fun part!
