Alaska to Virginia. the long way. Friday, July 8, 2011. We Love you Kauai. Well, Kauai is starting to wind down for us. Our last big event is a Luau tonight on the Wiamea river. The past few days have been amazing and we have tackled more adventures. The camera has become our favorite toy! DD, Henry and I got a paddle board the other day, and paddled around the bay in front of Poipu Beach. It was great fun! I think I need one when I get to Virginia Beach! Alaska to Virginia. the long way. Friday, July 15, 2011. Goodbye Hawaii, Hello Highway. So our final days in Hawaii were great. We went to the Smith Family Luau, ate some good Hawaiian food, and watched some Tahitian dancers shake their booties! Pretty impressive if you ask me! DD and I checked out the local coffee farm and sampled some yummy iced coffees. After a few days at the Patterson Spa in San Jose (Thanks Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Claudia! Alaska to Virginia. the long way. Thursday, June 30, 2011. Waimea Canyon and Kilohana Lookout. Today we headed up to the Waimea Canyon for a picnic with the fam, and then attacked an awesome hike to the Kilohana Lookout. The canyon was amazing, reminded us a lot of the Grand Canyon. Red rocks and all. It is amazing that a canyon so big would be on an island so small. We all agree, one of the most beautiful things we've ever seen! We are all beat and after a brewhouse dinner and hot tub, are ready for bed!
