Sunday, August 05, 2012. She's a chocolate lab born 9-1-2011 and she has been fostered by loving people at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio as well as trained by the people at 4 Paws. And has also spent time in training via their prison program. We go to meet her and start our 10 day training on Aug. 14. We'll spend the entire day, for 10 straight days, working with Daz and the lead trainer at 4 Paws, then we get to bring our girl home for good! We love and adore her already! So excited for you guys!

He has made enormous progress in areas like academics, behavior, self-help skills, hearing, and speech and language. We just keep going up. Monday, March 12, 2012. Ethan is so happy! It's hard to believe that he spent most of his kindergarten year being completely deaf. Going back to hearing has been a snap for him and his SLP at Children's feels very strongly that he's an auditory learner. Our Two Year Old Child Aiden's Cochlear Implant Journey. Our son Aiden was born (3 months prematurely) on January 10, 2005 weighing only 1 pound 3oz (555 grams). At ten months of age, Aiden was diagnosed as being profoundly deaf in both ears. Aiden was implanted with a Cochlear Freedom implant on October 16th, 2006, and was "turned on" on November 20, 2006. Worth the Wait!

Monday, July 15, 2013. Child's name: Ethan Richard. Age: 3 years old! Weight: about 36 lbs. Height: around 38 inches. Physical abilities: Constantly on the go! He loves to jump off of things and is learning how to jump over things. He also started swim team this summer! He loved it and can’t wait for his next race. Speech/language: No longer qualifies for speech therapy! Other cognitive stuff: Can count to ten consistently and can count to 20 at times! Eating: Still picky, but we’re making progress!
