ExTeX: Sources

X is implemented in Java. Thus a Java runtime environment at least in version 1.5.0 is required. Java can be downloaded from java.sun.com. All other required libraries are part of the εχT. The sources are currently available via Subversion. See [Repository]. The sources might also be contained in the installer. They can be retrieved as package Source during the installation. No binaries of the release 0.1 are available yet. Java -jar ExTeX-setup.jar. To browse the repository online.

Here you can find some frequently asked questions – and their answers. Is εχT. X ready for use? X is still under development. When version 0.1 is released then you can consider it to be feature complete for the T. X compatibility mode. This means that DVI can be produced which is comparable – but not necessarily identical – to the DVI obtained from T. Under which License is εχT. The core part of εχT. X is distributed under the LGPL. Some libraries are used by εχT. X which come with their own licences.
