http://www.mrjkd.com/2014/11/malawis-cashgate-baker-tilly-report-and.html
Sunday, November 2, 2014. Malawi's Cashgate, the Baker Tilly Report, and Metadata. The Malawi government released last week a forensic audit report. Produced by accounting firm Baker Tilly regarding the Cashgate scandal. Cashgate is complex enough to warrant reading a primer on the subject. But for the lazy: a bunch of government officials spent six months pillaging the government. Some estimate as much as a $100 million USD stolen, which is a crippling for a small Sub-Saharan nation. It was received in ...

Week 9 Post-it notes! March 11, 2015. Here are two photos of the last group’s work from our afternoon session. We weren’t really able to explain at the time about them so I thought I would post them here if you want to see what we made of the task! Following on from what another person from the previous group said about bending the model to suit your needs, we also said you could/should pick and choose aspects of different models/standards to suit your repositories needs. March 26, 2015. Today we played Curate, the digital curation board game, brought to us by Laura Molloy and our MCPDM lecturer Yunhyong Kim. See Laura Molloy’s blog post on the HATII blog here;. Http:/ blogs.arts.gla.ac.uk/hatii/hatii-students-play-curate-the-digital-curation-boardgame/. Further information on the game can be found here;. MCPDM week 6: Metadata. February 18, 2015. This week in the lab we had to look at metadata. We were given a metadata zip file and had to look for the metadata of these files by either clicking on ‘properties’ or by using the tool found on http:/ www.extractmetadata.com. We had to see how many of the Dublin Core metadata elements, PREMIS elements and NISO mix elements we could find. All in all, inputting metadata is a very time-consuming (and i would presume therefore a costly) task and I can see the grea...
