Thursday, October 12, 2006. On Eugene's Nida's Principles of Corespondence. Nida regarded target readers more than the source ones, and gave importance to the receptor language. Yet, he could not escape being prescriptive and source-oriented. Nonetheless, he is important for translation theory as he is one of the first theorists who talked about cultural translation. Venuti himself expresses that he follows Berman’s ideas about good and bad translation.
