Welcome to One Beat and the launch of Double Dare Ya: A Riot Grrrl Inspired Super Zine. November 1, 2014. November 3, 2014. Welcome to the first post on the One Beat Zine Collective website! We have lots of other plans for the future, too, including taking our stuff to zine fairs and shows around the country, doing workshops, and producing regular themed anthologies, like Double Dare Ya – the first book with the One Beat bear on it. So, without further rambling:. The first 250 copies of the book include ...

http://fabtoons.blogspot.com/2015/04/sea-you-there.html
Wednesday, 29 April 2015. This Saturday I will be appearing on a panel discussing Bumps, Births and early Motherhood in comics and graphic novels. At the University of Brighton along with Kate Evans. A day at the seaside and some lively chat, what's not to like? Check out the details on their website. Just been out to the countryside getting a blast of spring loveliness and old clobber with Heather. Took in some culture on the way: fabulous tapestry map at The Bodleian in Oxford and Enid Marx.

fabtoons: After show
http://fabtoons.blogspot.com/2015/03/after-show.html
Monday, 30 March 2015. Took my Lexi exhibition down this weekend. How time flies! Somehow got sidetracked and didn't get round to blogging these past weeks, and now it's over. The work looked great in the venue, such a lovely space, and I got very positive feedback. Such a good turn out at the launch – that night was really special. And thank you to all who made it to Kensal Rise at any time! It was a really fun experience. Might do it again if asked. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Now buy the book.

Monday, 23 June 2014. Last week saw the launch of Ian Williams. Much anticipated excellent graphic novel The Bad Doctor. In the Oh so appropriate setting of Barts Pathology Museum. Wine was imbibed, speeches were spoken and readings read among jars of weird and wonderful body parts. Get well soon, Corinne! I have been doing the occasional shift at our local independent cinema for several weeks now – gets me out of the house. The bijou Lexi. Labels: barts pathology museum. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

fabtoons: May 2014
http://fabtoons.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 27 May 2014. A couple of sketchbook pages. This is how some stuff seeps out of my mind. For more about Friday's happenings check out Andy Oliver's Broken Frontier report. Recently I have been doing shifts at the brilliant Lexi Cinema. Bijou, independent and local (to me), all its profits go to charity and they show my kind of movies in a chilled setting – although the Postman Pat crowd yesterday afternoon drew a pretty hardcore audience. Myriad first graphic novel competition. Sunday, 25 May 2014.
