Optimist Prime: Hardcore Minecraft: Day 3
http://amishmonster.blogspot.com/2012/09/hardcore-minecraft-day-3.html
For Your Daily Dose of Irony. Saturday, September 15, 2012. Hardcore Minecraft: Day 3. It began as a slow evening on the Hardcore server. Erik and I were talking about supply runs and how to expand our holdings. We decided that, as a (soon-to-be) lawyer, he needed a richly appointed office. There's no mahogany wood in Minecraft, so we were thinking about alternatives when we hear an explosion outside. But I also want to build something out of snow, and that means that it's time for adventure! Lazy To avo...

Optimist Prime: April 2008
http://amishmonster.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
For Your Daily Dose of Irony. Wednesday, April 30, 2008. The real gems start up around 6 minutes in, when he starts using a door bug to trap people in their spawns until they can answer a trivia question. I'll post something real one of these days. Monday, April 28, 2008. Unless it's a farm. Just one of the many hilarious Valve promos that make me wish I was any good at TF2. Tuesday, April 22, 2008. Apparently, Clinton's big into it. Thursday, April 17, 2008. Pretty damn good for a few hours' work. Just ...

Optimist Prime: Making Games With Friends
http://amishmonster.blogspot.com/2012/09/making-games-with-friends.html
For Your Daily Dose of Irony. Sunday, September 02, 2012. Making Games With Friends. Recently, I've been looking into a lot of options for making games. This isn't really anything new, though it's the first time in a while I've been remotely serious about it. In high school, I made several table-top games by myself and with friends. We adapted RPG systems into new settings. Type strategy game in a fantasy setting. This was around 2000, mind you, so it fit an empty gaming niche at the time, plus it wa...

Optimist Prime: Hardcore Minecraft: Day 5
http://amishmonster.blogspot.com/2012/09/hardcore-minecraft-day-5.html
For Your Daily Dose of Irony. Monday, September 17, 2012. Hardcore Minecraft: Day 5. Not a terribly eventful day, thanks to lots of people buzzing around our base. Erik and I don't know why on earth so many people come by our outpost. We're a decent distance from the nearest other faction, and we're in by far the least populated quadrant of the map. So, what's bringing people to us? We don't know. Maybe it was me writing in the snow. I am on fire! Troublemakers. We're up to our armpits in cobblestone...

Optimist Prime: March 2008
http://amishmonster.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
For Your Daily Dose of Irony. Friday, March 28, 2008. Hi-Tonic vs. Jiggle-Vision. Aside from containing our favorite objectified video game ladies, it's a pretty amazing feat considering this was animated for free by someone named Montyoum. There appear to be at least two other. Major animations in his portfolio, which I'll have to check out next. Saturday, March 22, 2008. Season 4 is nigh. Even if you know the series backwards and forwards, be sure to check out the 8 minute summary over at SciFi.com.

Optimist Prime: May 2008
http://amishmonster.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
For Your Daily Dose of Irony. Thursday, May 29, 2008. Hans has something important to say, over here. Sunday, May 25, 2008. I never got past the first part with the spikes. I haven't really felt like writing lately - I have. Also, I stumbled upon JACT. Sunday, May 11, 2008. Internet Hype Machine, Part II. Suffice it to say that Starcraft II is increasingly on my mind as I play through the original. There haven't been many updates at the main site. Recently, but 1Up.com did a nice week-long series. In any...

Optimist Prime: Life is Too Short for Perfectionism
http://amishmonster.blogspot.com/2012/09/life-is-too-short-for-perfectionism.html
For Your Daily Dose of Irony. Monday, September 10, 2012. Life is Too Short for Perfectionism. When it comes to writing, especially creative writing, the most common advice given to me is to just get something on the page. It doesn't matter if it's rubbish, because you can always edit and revise later. If you wait until it's perfect to put it on the page, you'll never start writing. More difficult than starting a story, mind you, unless said things involved space travel in some capacity.

Optimist Prime: September 2010
http://amishmonster.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
For Your Daily Dose of Irony. Thursday, September 30, 2010. Minecraft II: The Floor is Made of Lava. So we land in the lava, our avatars catch on fire, and.well, thats it. The invulnerability in Minecraft multiplayer detracts a bit from the drama. We hop about in the lava until we get to the edge, haul ourselves out, and wait for the flames to extinguish themselves. Now were kind of stuck here. Wednesday, September 29, 2010. Ive become quite enamored with Minecraft. You may notice the bridge spanning the...
