the farmers wife: March 2008
http://farmerwife.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Images from the land of corn and soybeans. Friday, March 28, 2008. Here are some of the other results from the photo shoot. You can probably see what I was trying to achieve in each shot. Black and white just didn't seem to work. A black and white version of yesterday's shot. The wall and ceiling to the right of the open window were in serious and interesting decay. The chair seems quite small and toy-like however. A cropped version of the same photo. Thursday, March 27, 2008. I liked the way the stool w...
the farmers wife: June 2008
http://farmerwife.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Images from the land of corn and soybeans. Friday, June 27, 2008. I have a fascination with manual typewriters and the start of a collection. This is a nice toy typewriter that was tucked in a tiny back room at Josie's Antiques in DeKalb. I love the solid feel of having to strike a key with some force and the clackety-clack sound. Thursday, June 26, 2008. This is one of the many photographers covering the house move. Yes, this is front page news around here! Sunday, June 22, 2008. Progress is marching we...
the farmers wife: December 2009
http://farmerwife.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Images from the land of corn and soybeans. Thursday, December 17, 2009. I vaguely remember a developer's ad campaign that declared, "If you lived here, you'd be home now.". Some might not find this scene enticing, after all it's not a multi-million dollar mansion and the long unpaved drive would present it's own set of problems, but for me it looks like a very nice farm. I bet there's something delicious cooking in the kitchen. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Come Away With Me.
the farmers wife: February 2008
http://farmerwife.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
Images from the land of corn and soybeans. Tuesday, February 19, 2008. It's winter still. As the sun goes down and the light fades, everything turns a shade of blue. Ice hangs like stalactites from the branches of an evergreen. And the temperatures plummet again. Thursday, February 07, 2008. The snow fence seems to stretch on forever.as does winter at this point. They depict scenes from the Civil War, represented by the navy, cavalry, artillery and infantry. Saturday, June 26, 2010. Free manure is offered next to Yoder's food and department store in Shipshewana, Indiana. Friday, June 25, 2010. Dana-Thomas House (Frank Lloyd Wright). Heidicrafts: Feeling much better - Crafty bread
http://heidicrafts.blogspot.com/2007/11/feeling-much-better-crafty-bread.html
A demonstration of my varied creative outlets. Tuesday, November 27, 2007. Feeling much better - Crafty bread. Ganoush and I slept on separate couches in the living room last night. We both feel much better today. For safety of others, we skipped swimming today, though. Instead, the kids begrudgingly did math and journaling. They finished in time for an art project that both kids embraced. Our (the ladies') intent is to let the pieces air dry for two days and then we will paint them with acrylic paints.

http://heidicrafts.blogspot.com/2007/12/oh-weather-outside-is-frightful.html
A demonstration of my varied creative outlets. Tuesday, December 11, 2007. Oh, the weather outside is frightful. Here's how it looks this midday. Our house is between the left foreground tree limb and the limb across from the postal truck. Our outdoor car is through the downed limb branches and twigs. Click to make the photos bigger. What is falling is rain, but it freezes on contact, so everything is icicles. We had a brief spell of ice pellets, but now we are back to rain. Icicles on the clotheslines.
Heidicrafts: Brownie ceramics
http://heidicrafts.blogspot.com/2007/12/brownie-ceramics.html
A demonstration of my varied creative outlets. Sunday, December 02, 2007. Ganoush and I went to the local high school for a Brownie activity of glazing ceramics for only $5 per item. The Brownie leader works at Local HS and worked with the art teacher for this opportunity which is much cheaper than the ceramics place we have been to twice in November. Pencil marks on bisqueware disappear during firing, so any necessary guidelines can be drawn right on the piece. On my mug, you can see the R and W not...
Heidicrafts: More textures, November 2004
http://heidicrafts.blogspot.com/2007/11/more-textures-november-2004.html
A demonstration of my varied creative outlets. Sunday, November 25, 2007. More textures, November 2004. Three more texture shots from the November 2004 folder:. My parents' piano. It was a hand-me-down from our church before I was born. An upright. When the house is ever sold (48 years with its first owner, my dad), the piano will go with the house, as it isn't coming up those basement stairs in a playable condition. Heidicrafts: CMP ATC JUL/AUG - Here to There

A demonstration of my varied creative outlets. Friday, September 05, 2008. CMP ATC JUL/AUG - Here to There. CMP ATC JUL/AUG - Here to There. Originally uploaded by Heidicrafts. Our church basement and adjoining office and preschool buildings had to be gutted to the studs. Nearly all papers were unsalvageable. Metal items and plastics without crevices could be cleaned, but porcelain, fabrics, wood, plaster, anything absorbent had to be thrown out. 11 September, 2008 05:45. Notes from a Caffienated Cowgirl: The land of hope...
http://caffienatedcowgirlnotes.blogspot.com/2007/05/land-of-hope.html
Notes from a Caffienated Cowgirl. Life off the ranch. The land of hope. There is a section of my closet where clothes go to hide from the charity bags. I like to call it the "land of hope". Because we move quite often, I am no longer the pack rat of my early years. Rather, at every given opportunity I gladly go through our belongings and give away things we just don't need. I have 5 categories in my wardrobe that I mentally run through when it comes time to purge. They are. Clothes I actually wear. Jotte...

Notes from a Caffienated Cowgirl: Adaptation...
http://caffienatedcowgirlnotes.blogspot.com/2007/05/adaptation.html
Notes from a Caffienated Cowgirl. Life off the ranch. How is it that we may move from place to place, yet our bodies seem set on staying in their original climate? If you can never fully adapt to the weather, then can you ever fully adapt to the place? Does my lack of stripping down to a t-shirt and shorts when the weather hits 65 degrees Fahrenheit make it obvious that I'm not a native? Jotted down by Caffienated Cowgirl. Stashed away in: ramblings. I totally hear you about the crazy weather! Memior by ...

My Place of Rain and Shine: June 2008
http://myplaceofrainandshine.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
My Place of Rain and Shine. June 25, 2008. This is how I spent my day today. It is nice to sit and relax. All day it has been icky and rainy. I loved it though because the dogs and I went outside and played in the rain. These pictures were taken before we went out to play. Sorry guys, I still don't have a picture of Missy yet. I will get some of her soon. June 23, 2008. My new wonderful world of DOGS! I'd hate to know what kids added to the mix would do . We'll find out sooner or later.). Matra is one of...

My Place of Rain and Shine: July 2008
http://myplaceofrainandshine.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
My Place of Rain and Shine. July 21, 2008. Rules for Dog Owner (as suggested by their dogs). I will not bathe my dog after he bathes himself in the mud puddle. I will not push my dog away when she wants a hug after playing in a mud puddle. I will not complain "My arm is tired" after only throwing the ball 20 times. I will not confuse my dog by throwing snowballs for him to fetch. I will not ask my dog to play fetch with a boomerang. I will not drag my dog away from the interesting sniffing spots. I will ...

Images from the land of corn and soybeans. Saturday, March 05, 2011. Yet another farm outbuilding has collapsed. It simply blew over when a sharp wind came in from the west.
