HOME & FARM. You know how it goes. You see a darling craft project and determine to replicate it. Except it's complicated, expensive and turns out to be somewhat of a disaster. Not this one! You can make a pinwheel in a couple of minutes. They're easy and yes, I'll say it they're cheap! They also make delightful table decorations. So Annie, get your glue gun! It's time to get crafty. The 4-Her's Show and Tell
http://www.farmgirlfollies.com/2015/07/show-and-tell-2-20116.html
HOME & FARM. The 4-Her’s Show and Tell. This child … the one above, on the left. She’s a blue-eyed whippersnapper with a bucolic view of the world and a wicked sense of humor. She loves responsibility and is always eager to be involved … but there are just so many things to see and do in any given moment that it’s easy to get distracted. Showing beef cattle and horses isn’t such a stretch for someone with dairy experience who also has horses and steers at home. But dogs? That’s the gold standard. Hogs we...

http://www.farmgirlfollies.com/2015/07/saying-goodbye-to-july-20125.html
HOME & FARM. Saying Goodbye to July. The light beckoned me to leave the house and head for the hills, literally. The rosy glow promised something even more spectacular … something breathtaking. Ahhh, yes. Pure brilliance. Oh, that color! How blessed am I, that my eyes have opportunity to stare at such indescribable magnificence … such stunningly sensational displays! I find it hard to believe that anyone, anywhere, could stare into this wild blue yonder set aflame and question the existence of God. The m...

Collecting: crappy-style - Farmgirl Follies | Jennifer Kiko
http://www.farmgirlfollies.com/2009/06/collecting-crappy-style-1203.html
HOME & FARM. 8230; at least, that’s what she calls it. Some people refer to these timeworn treasures as primitive or rustic antiques. Not Carol. She calls her decor “crappy-style” in an affectionate way that speaks volumes about her adoration for days gone by. Carol likes well worn, purposeful items. And they can’t have any shine. No shiners here, baby. I have table envy. Carol did too that’s how this sweet little piece ended up in her kitchen. Have you met Carol? If you’ve been to FARMGIRL FINDS. You ca...

Tales from the Coop Keeper: On Mothering
http://talefromthecoopkeeper.blogspot.com/2015/05/on-mothering.html
Sunday, May 10, 2015. I awoke this morning in an off mood. Nothing in particular - more tired than anything. Two Farmer's Markets a week - the struggle is real y'all. I'm a tired (but very happy! I have to keep reminding myself that I'm my own boss - and I can arrange my schedule anyway I'd like to - but apparently I'm 'that' boss - and choose to work myself to a nub on a regular basis. So this morning comes, and it's Mother's Day - I'm fraught with several emotions. My mother is gone. But is she gone?
Magnolia Holler: Rose of Sharon
http://magnoliaholler.blogspot.com/2013/02/rose-of-sharon.html
Tuesday, February 26, 2013. Join the fun at Green Thumb Thursday. Two years ago, when we moved to Magnolia Holler, there was this massive tree/bush thing. We thought it dead, but turned out it was only dormant. It leaf out and when it bloomed - it was beautiful! My mother-in-law identified it as a Rose of Sharon. Yet this one was in need of serious prunning! It covered the window above the kitchen sink, we couldn't see out! This time we took it down even further than last year. Live Simple, Be Happy-.
Magnolia Holler: Pumpkin Pie
http://magnoliaholler.blogspot.com/2013/09/pumpkin-pie.html
Wednesday, September 25, 2013. I planted several pumpkins this year, most are said to be good eating, so I'm anxious to try! Though I really wanted to try a Pumpkin Pie using the Winter Luxury pumpkin, I decided to use the Pink Banana squash first. Measuring just shy of 12", it was the perfect amount for a single pie. I prepared to roast it, cut it lengthwise and scoop the seeds. I put it cut side down and baked it at 425 degrees until tender (about 45 minutes for mine). 12 oz evaporated milk. Everyone l...
Magnolia Holler: Clover, a hidden jewel!
http://magnoliaholler.blogspot.com/2013/06/clover-hidden-jewel.html
Wednesday, June 12, 2013. Clover, a hidden jewel! Many of us, myself included, always thought of clover as a weed. Recently, watching how much our bees LOVE it, I started finding out more about it.yes, it's good for the garden by putting nitrogen back into the soil. But, did you know it's also full of sweet honey-like flavor? I had to try jelly. Red clover flowers. (Isn't it funny that these are called "red" clover, yet they're actually purple.). I added one packet pectin and four cups of sugar. Proc...

Farmgirl Forever
Saturday, June 26, 2010. It's Always Fun When Grandpa Comes! I loved it when Grandpa came! I remember Grandpa with his thumb sideways between his front teeth, almost itching it, as he thought about things. He always wanted to hear our music, and sometimes had time to read a story. I always wanted to be her, just so I could spend time with Grandpa! I also loved the memories of the warm milk. I'd hear, "Would you like to see stars? I have a bundle more.
