Easy Kale Salad | farmsharing
https://farmsharing.wordpress.com/2014/06/12/easy-kale-salad
Ideas, recipes, and resources for people who love, or aspire to love, their CSA. Week 4: First Fruit! June 12, 2014. This bunch of kale languished in my fridge for nearly a week before I got to it, and its just-beginning-to-wilt state made it a perfect candidate for a rubbed-lemon vinaigrette. Since I was also making peanut tofu I added sesame seeds for protein and to bring the dishes together. 1 bunch kale, washed, deveined, and cut into bite-sized squares. 1/3 cup lemon juice. 2 tbsp. olive oil.

Ideas, recipes, and resources for people who love, or aspire to love, their CSA. Newer posts →. Week 3: Lettuce Eat Salad. June 6, 2014. I ate lettuce wraps for breakfast this morning. I forgot to take a picture, and it is just as well because they were very messy. There is so much lettuce! I had to take a close up of one head of lettuce in particular– it is the most beautiful one I have ever seen, almost too pretty and rose-like to eat (but I did, and it was delicious). Week 2: Cooking Greens. I’v...

Ideas, recipes, and resources for people who love, or aspire to love, their CSA. Week 5: Pie, anyone? June 23, 2014. I debated for several weeks whether or not to buy a fruit share, and one look at the little fruit box with rhubarb and strawberries this week and my mouth was watering. Although there may not be enough for a big pie, something tasty will come out of that flavor combination! From top right: green leaf lettuce, rhubarb, asparagus, snap peas, garlic scapes, kohlrabi, strawberries, more lettuce.
Kohlrabi Benne Salad | farmsharing

Ideas, recipes, and resources for people who love, or aspire to love, their CSA. Week 5: Pie, anyone? June 23, 2014. What to do with giant kohlrabi bulbs? I also cut out the sugar and used white vinegar because I don’t have tarragon wine vinegar, so I guess I deviated enough from the recipe to list it here. 3 medium kohlrabi, peeled and sliced into 1/4″ strips. 4 scallions, chopped. 3 garlic scapes, chopped (because I have so many! 2 tsp sesame seeds. 1/2 tsp. fresh ginger. 1/2 tsp. black pepper. You are...

Farm share stories
Saturday, November 17, 2012. Inspired by the Boston Globe Magazine's Roasted Punched Potatoes. Recipe probably paywalled), I smashed my own potatoes. (Upon reviewing the magazine photo, it seems I punched mine rather less genteely than the recipe called for.). If I had it to do over again, I wouldn't smash the potatoes quite so flat, for more fluffy soft potato between the crispy bits. I ate mine plain, but either ketchup or baked potato toppings (sour cream, cheese, bacon, chives) would be nice. Cider i...

Farm Share the Love
Farm Share the Love. A journey through time with two first-time farm sharers. March 6, 2012. Call me crazy but I am currently obsessed with quinoa. I think it has something to do with the fact that in Ecuador, they put quinoa in everything. Yogurt, cake, soups, breads, it’s so versatile, and so healthy. 🙂. For my first week back in the States, on the processed-free diet, I figured there was no better choice than quinoa. First recipe–stuffed peppers. On to the recipe:. 2 large yellow bell peppers. I was ...
