The Joy of Grace. Monthly Archives: March 2015. March 1, 2015. In a world that tells us we need more… self-help, self-worth, self-esteem, self-justification, selfies, self-motivation, self-confidence, and self-love…. I’m not sure we have trouble with loving ourselves. As Nancy Leigh DeMoss so pointedly writes…. Our malady is not “low self-esteem”, … Continue reading →. Who has enough brain power to categorize? The Joy of Grace. The springs of life. May 13, 2014. I remember well learning the verse…. Keep your heart with all vigilance,. For from it flow the springs of life. As a teenager looking for true love, it took on a grand meaning to me. As a mom of 4, wife to my true love, and follower of the one, true Lord, it may even have a grander meaning. Keeping your heart guarded in the issues of life seems, to me, to be a full time job. Because, you see, most days just trying to get my pants on. Guard your heart, ...

The Joy of Grace. Loving past the little years. June 20, 2014. I’ve come to the realization that, with at least 2 of my children, we are past those little years. They were good. They were sanctifying for this mama. I’m thankful for them. I’m thankful for this new season too though. I’m still in those little years with my 2 boys. And, let me tell you, boys add a whole new sphere of “loving the little years”. I praise God for that sphere, though they sure do make me. What is your favorite color? 8221; Brea...

The Joy of Grace. December 17, 2013. That Savannah. I’ve heard the average lady has about 20,000 words a day. She has more. She can’t just answer a question. She likes to go into detail. Many details. Most of the time, she really knows what she’s talking about. Other times, not so much. Here are a few of my favorite Savannah-isms as of late…. While we were watching a movie…. Mom, this is a PG movie. Oh, no. It probably has the D-word and the S-word. Was my thought. Where in the world did she hear the.

The Joy of Grace. Scary cows and other lessons from the farmlands. September 18, 2014. Okay, so I may not be as scared of the horses. As I was when we first moved to the farmlands, but the cows have got me, y’all! It’s like I know, just know, that one of them is going to decide that it doesn’t want me running down its country lane and will start running towards me, stomp the barbed wire fence, and get me! Of course, when one cow starts running towards a certain direction, the other ones follow. Remind yo...

The Joy of Grace. Let Mama get her pants on & other mama-hood musings. July 16, 2013. If I could use one word to describe life right now it would be. Yes, 4 kids-stretching. They weren’t kidding about those stretch marks sweet babies would give ya. But I’m talking about a stetching of the brain that just about makes me crazy most days (I’ve got real stretch marks too though! The Joy of Grace. A Mama’s Call in the light of ISIS. February 21, 2015. It was the 5th or so day we had been in the house, save a trip to the grocery. Plans to get out that night came to a halt when more ice started streaming from the sky. What’s for dinner now? Became the hot question. I was cranky. I wanted to get out of the house. I didn’t want to think of what to make for dinner. And so the list goes on. What’s all this got to do with ISIS? Has decreed a call. A call to pray. So, what are we to do?
