November 8, 2004. I have since sold the RS-T and moved onto a STi. But you can read more about the RS-T at www.pghsubarus.com. June 20, 2003. This site shows off my 1998 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS-T. I used a custom design that incorporates many parts of DSM's including the TD05h-14b turbo. This turbo powers 90-94 manual tranny DSM's and is pretty badass IMO. It's bigger brother the 16g is used on the EVO and happens to be a direct swap for the 14b.nice upgrade huh?

By looking at the three plots on the compressor map you can see how the turbo will operate on the EJ25 engine at 4, 5, and 6 psi. The dots indicate 4000, 4500, 5000, 5500, 6000, and 6500 engine rpms. The efficiency helps give an idea of where power will best be made. THE REST OF THE SETUP. As for the rest of my custom design I will show how I made the oil lines, uppipe, downpipe, intake piping, and intercooler. The gauges and electronics will be discussed in the tuning section.

35mm Wastegate,.3Bar spring, flanges. Intecooler Pipe w/ BOV flange. 25" 90 degree bent pipe. Custom Uppipe and Downpipe. 2" Uppipe, 2.5" Downpipe, catless, wastegate dump. Intake to compressor inlet. Compressor outlet to IC pipe. IC pipe to IC inlet. IC outlet to TB. Dsmtrader, Connects to turbo and -10AN line. 10AN Steel Braided Line. Summit racing, connects oil pipe to oil pan. 45 Degree -10AN Hose End. Summit racing, connects line to pan. Dsmtrader, banjo connector to turbo from -4AN line.
Phase I EJ25

The Phase I EJ25 engine in the 98 RS is different than newer year RS engines. For starters it is DOHC instead of SOHC. It has a lower 9.7:1 compression ratio compared to 10:1 in the Phase II. The bearing journals and oil passages are also different. The crank is good for some serious power. Gererally, Phase II engines are used as they are a direct swap in for Phase I engines.
