here we go again (again) | A Fertile Imagination
https://fertileimagination.wordpress.com/2013/07/23/here-we-go-again-again
Here we go again (again). July 23, 2013. I’m making at least a bit of an effort to chronicle as things go on, rather than an after-the-fact infodump like the last several cycles. (Radio silence, then a long ‘oh hey, I almost died’ post is probably not the best way to make sure I’m capturing every little detail, right? I’m not doing the greatest job at it, but here’s what’s been happening. So, on July 3. As soon as I got back. And we settled down and waited, and tried not to symptom-analyze. I dashed off ...
May | 2013 | A Fertile Imagination
https://fertileimagination.wordpress.com/2013/05
May 14, 2013. My first period since the beginning of January has finally arrived. Needless to say, I’m not having a great time. However, it does mean that there’s the beginning of a plan in place. Tomorrow morning I’ll go in to get my bloodwork updated – my last ‘day 3’ bloodwork was more than six months ago, so it’s expired. So, moving forward. But in the meantime, I’ll just be over here. Cramping. May 6, 2013. May 2, 2013. Why not just do it anyway? You are currently viewing the archives for May, 2013.
October | 2012 | A Fertile Imagination
https://fertileimagination.wordpress.com/2012/10
October 2, 2012. We were, to say the least, slightly surprised to hear it. First of all, nobody mentioned that we might not want to do it, or that we didn’t need it because it was our first, or anything like that. All we heard was ‘do you want it or not’. And second – why wouldn’t you do it? If there’s going to be an obvious, testable genetic flaw that will lead to multiple miscarriages, why not find out before you have them? You are currently viewing the archives for October, 2012.
two in, three frozen | A Fertile Imagination
https://fertileimagination.wordpress.com/2013/07/05/two-in-three-frozen
Two in, three frozen. July 5, 2013 1 Comment. All three of our remaining embryos made it to the freezer! Or do we just transfer all three since it’s fairly unlikely they’ll all implant? This is all very cart-before-the-horse, of course, since two fresh embryos were transferred in on Wednesday, but I can’t help thinking about it. Two in, three frozen. July 5, 2013 at 3:50 pm. That’s great that all three made it to freeze! No security like embryos in the freezer, me old mum used to say. Or something.
five | A Fertile Imagination
https://fertileimagination.wordpress.com/2013/06/29/five
June 29, 2013 1 Comment. Wonder of wonders, they retrieved ten eggs yesterday. I just got the update phone call, and of those ten, seven were mature enough to use. Which, as it happens, is about the number I was expecting based on the measurements at my last ultrasound, and really, even a little better than I expected for such a poor-response cycle. Of those seven, five successfully fertilized and divided. Five! Five embryos. Ah, ah, ah. June 29, 2013 at 3:49 pm. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Favoring hyperbole since 1975. Dearest Lizzy B.,. Your photos from Trier were so gorgeous, as are both of your kids. Was especially taken by the blue and white dome image at the top of your post – I am a total sucker for blue and white anything. I dig Architectural Wedgewood, I guess is what I’m saying. Oh, Liz. Last weekend was a flurry of Shakespeare, some Bardolatry, and slug-i-tude, with a sidebar of Homeowner’s Insurance Claim faffery. One day (Thursday I think? And death just romps around from ther...
A Few Pieces of Paper | LizSquared
http://lizsquared.com/a-few-pieces-of-paper
Favoring hyperbole since 1975. A Few Pieces of Paper. Dear Liz C.,. All of this means that my happiness hasn’t come as quickly as I might like. I’ve had to be more deliberate to seek out my joy. I’ve had to work more to smile, seek laughter where once it grew naturally. So, what do you do when your happiness is elusive and tricksy? So, as of yesterday, I’ve submitted some Potentially Life-Changing Paperwork to the US Department of State, seeking a security clearance that would allow me to accept a ...

Favoring hyperbole since 1975. Category Archives: Cookin With The Lizzes. In the Kitchen with Liz. Since we’re talking about recipes a little bit now, I figured I’d share this week’s surprise cooking triumph:. OMG I KNOW. I mean, I like meatloaf fine. It’s a nice warm cozy comfort food that works well to use things up, is fairly simple to make, etc. But I had never made nor consumed a meatloaf that would have garnered a wow from me until now. Here’s what I did differently:. January 16, 2014. 1 1/2 Cups A...

Favoring hyperbole since 1975. Life Beyond the Baby Monitor. Dear Liz C.,. That said, one thing that we’ve done differently this time that has absolutely made me a better, saner parent: we ditched the baby monitor. So, we kept saying that we would go snag a German monitor, but then we just… didn’t. With Archer, I spent so much of the night staring at the monitor. Did he just make a sound? Is he waking up? Was that a sneeze or a cough? Is he getting sick? Is he stuck between the crib rails? If she stirs, ...

Favoring hyperbole since 1975. Category Archives: Darndest Things. SPEAKING of the Diva Cup. Okay, Liz C. There I was. Sitting quietly, enjoying a beer after I put the kids to bed. The house was blissfully silent and I was just thinking about getting out my laptop to do some writing (or, you know, dick around on the Internet) when I heard some peeps from upstairs. ANYWAY. I heard some little boy peeps and so tip-toed up the stairs to see what he was doing. It’s standing, pointy end up, surrounded b...

Favoring hyperbole since 1975. Category Archives: Life in Germany. On the Storage Capacity of the Vagina. Hello, Liz C. I was nervous. Not sure why, really. I had been through the process before and, while it hurts, it’s not TERRIBLE. Similar, I guess, to the stupid poof of air at the eye doctor: the waiting is the worst part. I squirmed around in the waiting room, sweating buckets and being generally disgruntled. Doc laughed, agreed, and said she didn’t see any reason why I wouldn’t be able ...This entr...
Modern Parenting is NO. JOKE. | LizSquared

Favoring hyperbole since 1975. Modern Parenting is NO. JOKE. Can you help a Mama out a little, please? I have a mid-elementary-age daughter. Articles and studies everywhere are all telling me how incredibly at risk she is because of all the media to which she’s essentially got to be connected in order to keep up in the world in which she’s growing up. Desperate Mamas need to know. This entry was posted in Dear Internet. January 29, 2014. In the Kitchen with Liz. It Sneaks Up on You →.

A Fertile Imagination
August 28, 2013. Last year, on my 30th birthday, I discovered that I was pregnant after my first IVF cycle. That, uh, didn’t end well. My first appointment with the OB was three days later. We went in armed with a page-long list of questions to ask, all of which were answered, thank goodness. They did a blood test, a urine test, and an ultrasound, all of which were normal. August 5, 2013. I mentioned this on Twitter and Instagram late last week, but I should record it here and add the details for posteri...

Sunday, March 27, 2011. Blessed Cross Rose Birth Announcement. Customize your own unique baby announcements. View the entire collection. Wednesday, January 12, 2011. At each checkup there are a series of checks: they check Sarah's weight, listen to the baby's heartbeat, and then measure the baby. It seems to me that this latter test is not very precise; they just hold a tape measure against Sarah's belly and go "eh, it's about 34". We talked about this a bit and decided to paint it a pale green color....

Friday, January 15, 2010. Once again I am slacking. Well Its been a while since I last posted. I try really but life just seems to get in the way. All the holidays have come and gone. They were all great. Halloween was Bam Bam and Super Meah. Thanksgiving was yummy as always! And Christmas was great. Meah even went as far as to stand in front of santa this year! Huge progress. Aaden on the other hand wanted NOTHING to do with him. Too funny. Here are some recent pics. Links to this post. I am so excited ...
