Film Foodie: The Oscar Project

I'm going to undertake a serious challenge-watch every movie ever to win an Oscar for "Best Picture" and then blog about it...before the next Oscars begin. And to lure my friends into doing it with me, with each movie I will make and serve an appropriate snack-because what would the movies be without snacks?

Film Foodie: The Oscar Project: Burnt Cream

http://filmfoodie.blogspot.com/2012/07/burnt-cream.html

Thursday, July 19, 2012. Before my boyfriend and I piled in the car to head down to my parents' for Christmas, we stopped at the mall to finish up our holiday shopping. Unfortunately, that was the day I had found out I did not get the job I had applied for (no worries! I've since gotten another, even better opportunity! Why a blowtorch, you ask? Why not a knife, peeler, or pancake mold in the shape of Darth Vader? Because for a Parisian film, what better treat to make than crème brûlée? In the blowtorch ...

Film Foodie: The Oscar Project: Oscars and Revelations...2013!

http://filmfoodie.blogspot.com/2013/02/oscars-and-revelations2013.html

Sunday, February 24, 2013. Oscars and Revelations.2013! Once done, however, I'm sticking to it. We shall see how right I am, but I must say this was a year I really enjoyed watching the many different films nominated. The costumes rock. Makeup, costumes, scenery, everything. I LOVED this movie. I never, NEVER thought I would like this movie so much. I dragged my feet. I crossed my arms and scowled at the film. I mean, for Christ's sake, it's a war film! It's filled with torture scenes! I'm going to under...

Film Foodie: The Oscar Project: Oscar Race 2013

http://filmfoodie.blogspot.com/2012/10/oscar-race-2013.html

Wednesday, October 10, 2012. It's been awhile I know. I actually have three (count 'em) THREE movie posts I'm working on simultaneously. Prepare for serious posting. But in the midst of this, I wanted to comment on the early noise I'm getting for the 2013 Academy Awards. I'm not sure what it is this year, but I'm feeling very disconnected from the films popular this year. I saw Avengers. Not even the trailers! Okay, well that's not completely true. I knew Les Miz. Was I really that disconnected? Here are...

Film Foodie: The Oscar Project: February 2011

http://filmfoodie.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

Sunday, February 27, 2011. In Preparation for Oscar Night. The Oscars are officially here and my preparations are in order. Oscar ballots? Check Yummy snack recipes? Check Preparation by seeing all the Best Picture nominated films? And while I didn't quite finish up my own project (sadly, I just didn't have time for everything), I'm feeling pretty prepared for the Oscars. Ten films in one month! You must be proud. I know I am. Has been nominated in the Best Actor category, while Biutiful. Is so good in h...

Film Foodie: The Oscar Project: June 2011

http://filmfoodie.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Sunday, June 26, 2011. The following is a simple, easy, and exceedingly yummy way to make homemade pita chips. 1 Tbsp Olive Oil. At least two loaves of Pita Bread (I prefer Joseph's Whole Wheat). Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Slice the bread in half and then into small triangles, much as you would a pizza. Line a baking sheet with tine foil and then arrange the triangles of pita across the sheet. The amount is entirely to taste. Take the chips out of the oven and enjoy! Posted by C. Movie. The world i...
