An Itinerant Preacher: March 2015
http://anitinerantpreacher.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 30, 2015. As of today we are released from the introspective 40 days of Lent as the activities of Holy Week commence. Lent is a time of self reflection, of self denial and fasting, it’s been a time for us to go deep within our souls and seek the ways in which we are in need of forgiveness. Lent is all about you as an individual. When they were approaching Jerusalem, at Bethphage and Bethany, near the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples and said to them, “Go into the village ...

An Itinerant Preacher: August 2014
http://anitinerantpreacher.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 28, 2014. Sometimes you have to take action and do the right thing without too much forethought, that is trusting that you will do the right thing. You just never know how you might impact a life or lives. A couple of years ago I was walking up towards the train platform in Stratford. A woman was in front of me dragging along a suitcase. We were approaching about a ten step stairway and I thought to myself, ‘Hmmm, I wonder if she needs help’. He didn’t stop and ask if he could. I could h...

An Itinerant Preacher: December 2014
http://anitinerantpreacher.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 29, 2014. A Star, Some Seekers and a Savior. Beauty of Astronomical Events. A couple of years ago my daughter gave me a new tripod for Christmas. I was living in New Haven at the time. So I went over to the Green at dusk one day about 4:30 pm. The tree downtown was resplendent with color that year and huge too! I took a few shots and then I turned around to see what else there was to photograph until it got a little darker. Hence the saying, “once on a blue moon”. We all know that there ...

An Itinerant Preacher: July 2014
http://anitinerantpreacher.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 31, 2014. Our community has suffered a very tragic set back this week. No doubt you have heard, it’s been all over the news. A 22 year old young man took the life of his mother on Wild Rose Road. This is heartbreaking and dreadful and a real set back to our community. I’ve come to understand the Orange community as a tightly knit town who genuinely cares for one another and comes together in times of distress. Murder and Orange in the same sentence just don’t compute. Remember last week he...

An Itinerant Preacher: April 2015
http://anitinerantpreacher.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 22, 2015. A Change of Conviction, A Change of Heart. Acts 10:1-17; 34-35. Andrew Zimmern of the Travel Channel’s “Bizarre Foods” lists ten of his top most bizarre foods that he likes. Among them are: Mixed grill udders and intestines from Buenos Aires; Donkey skin stir-fry coming out of Beijing; Pork brain tacos, viva la Mexico; and Horse mane Sashimi from Japan especially good with a bit of ginger and soy sauce. 8220;Fatty Awesomeness”, he says. And God wanted then, as is now, a diverse...

An Itinerant Preacher: September 2014
http://anitinerantpreacher.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 23, 2014. Of course this act of defiance and beauty lands Andy in solitary confinement. When he finally made it out he sat with his friends who asked how he made it through. He said he had Mozart, Mozart was in his heart and his mind when he, all bloodied and pale, laid on the dark and cold floor of solitary. Mozart got him through this time. When someone or something is in your head and your heart while in the deepest crevices of your life then you are offered a chance of survival.

An Itinerant Preacher: Easter Message - Your Story Begins
http://anitinerantpreacher.blogspot.com/2015/04/easter-message-your-story-begins.html
Wednesday, April 22, 2015. Easter Message - Your Story Begins. When the sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, so that they might go and anoint him. And very early on the first day of the week, when the sun had risen, they went to the tomb. They had been saying to one another, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb? When they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had already been rolled back. There are no p...

An Itinerant Preacher: June 2014
http://anitinerantpreacher.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 26, 2014. It is Trinity Sunday and the earliest ‘formula’ if you will, for even thinking about the Trinity is in the Gospel of Matthew. But rather than focusing on what or how the Trinity really works – that’s waaay too doctrinal for a sunny Sunday morning after a busy Saturday, I want to focus on what is called the ‘Great Commission’ which is also part of this morning’s scripture reading. But that’s another discussion for another time. This is not a lot of passage but it packs a punch for...
