http://everythingiate2008.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

Everything I Ate - Japan. Eat real food. Not too much. Mostly plants. (Michael Pollan). Monday, October 19, 2009. Tokyo - first impressions. Prayer requests at the Meji Shrine. At the Meji Shrine. Simple lunch of miso soup, kukicha and fantastic grilled mackerel at a little family place in Asakusa. The high tech toilet in our hotel, complete with heated toilet seat and hydraulic lid. Off to the mountains to soak in some hot springs - won't have internet access for a few days. More soon! Links to this post.

Everything I Ate - Japan: Honke Bankyu Breakfast

http://everythingiate2008.blogspot.com/2009/12/honke-bankyu-breakfast.html

Everything I Ate - Japan. Eat real food. Not too much. Mostly plants. (Michael Pollan). Saturday, December 5, 2009. The best green tea ever, in the room. Made with these fantastic tea bags (looks like gyokuro if you ask me). The buffet downstairs in the breakfast room - an embarrassment of riches. The weird looking green things with the mushy brown sauce on the angular plate in the middle are actually sweet green mochi with a sweet (red bean? So we would find our way back to our table from the buffet?

Everything I Ate - Japan: January 2009

http://everythingiate2008.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html

Everything I Ate - Japan. Eat real food. Not too much. Mostly plants. (Michael Pollan). Saturday, January 31, 2009. Things I've never tried before 2. Korean olive leaf tea (made from olive leaves harvested in Australia). It's a little on the bitter side so I can understand why most people won't enjoy it, but I for one don't like sweet or sweetened teas, so this is perfect. Plus it's supposed to have a bunch of health benefits, natural antibiotic properties etc - a total keeper! Links to this post. Today'...

Everything I Ate - Japan: Raw deer meat at Honke Bankyu Ryokan

http://everythingiate2008.blogspot.com/2009/11/yunishigawa.html

Everything I Ate - Japan. Eat real food. Not too much. Mostly plants. (Michael Pollan). Monday, November 9, 2009. Raw deer meat at Honke Bankyu Ryokan. The last fiery instant ramen on our last (for now) morning in Tokyo. Here's where you place your order:. This was my choice - soba tempura. And here's Ritesh's curry and rice. And here's what the real thing looked like inside - not bad! A welcoming snack at the ryokan Honke Bankyu Bankyu in Yunishigawa - the best daifuku ever. Not sure actually if these w...

Tues, Oct 28 - Happy Diwali! 834am - cereal w/ almond milk and walnuts, fresh squeezed lemonade w/ agave nectar, at home. 1107am - spicy pumpkin seeds, at work. 1256pm - mixed salad from the Hare Krishna buffet, with Nady. They didn't do anything special for Diwali, but this is always good. 1256pm - daal with some sauteed veggies, incl. bamboo shoots, at the Hare Krishna Temple, with Nady.

Everything I Ate - Japan: May 2009

http://everythingiate2008.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html

Everything I Ate - Japan. Eat real food. Not too much. Mostly plants. (Michael Pollan). Sunday, May 31, 2009. While we were both home sick and recovering, we spent a lot of time preparing our all-round favorite food - soup, in all shapes and forms:. Ritesh's first home made chicken soup, entirely made from scratch, hours of work, but the best broth ever. The de-boned chicken and veggies that were boiled in the broth. Links to this post. In the Seattle. I made Ritesh bring some home when he was up the...
