A Wandering Spirit: January 2010
http://sophiemarian.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 31, 2010. I was on the phone with Tim Tam from the Word at Work. A counselor from Canada (but who volunteers a lot of her time to work/teach in Belize) came down to do the teaching/training. My roll was mainly to be there as a resource, to lead devotions, and pray. The Mission and Evangelism team at the church wanted me to travel with someone, so my friend and roommate Michelle agreed to go with me. We landed in Belize and then made the drive to Belmopan. Michelle didn't know it before we...

A Wandering Spirit: December 2009
http://sophiemarian.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 31, 2009. Merry Christmas to all! As 2009 is coming to a close, I can say that it has been a wonderful Advent and Christmas season. I love the anticipation of the coming Christmas, studying the traditional Biblical texts, singing Christmas hymns, and just the festivities and togetherness that comes with the Christmas season. There were a few fun parties at the church - one for the office volunteers where Santa made an appearance. The FPCA staff had our annual Christmas party,. This is ...

A Wandering Spirit: January 2009

Friday, January 23, 2009. A busy (but wonderful) start to 2009. I'm not really sure how so much time has passed since I last posted to my blog - the last thing I had posted about was the 5:00 Family Friendly Christmas Eve Service at FPCA. Well, since then, there has been much activity. Christmas morning I had an 11:00am flight to head to North Carolina, but I had some time in the morning to hang out with the McClellands. This is Stacy and I in our pajamas that two of the youth group girls gave us. Stacy ...

A Wandering Spirit: Introducing the Rev. Becca Moran
http://sophiemarian.blogspot.com/2010/02/introducing-rev-becca-moran.html
Wednesday, February 10, 2010. Introducing the Rev. Becca Moran. This past weekend I was able to travel out to California to celebrate with Becca as she was ordained to be a Minister of the Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church. I arrived late Thursday night, and Friday morning Becca took time to model her new robe and stoles for us (we were hanging out at her parents house in San Pedro) - the purple one was my favorite. But I thought the shoes really made the outfit. One of my other favorite part...

Sunday, June 22, 2008. In Memory of Becca Vetterani. I realized when I was at the Fuller's graduation festivities this year, that the last time I had seen Becca was at our graduation ceremony. She was a brilliant scholar, a loving mother, and a devout Christian, and she is dearly missed. Please continue to pray for her husband Tom, who is still in a great deal of physical and emotional pain as a result of the accident. Friday, June 20, 2008. Two more graduates: Christina and Pocket (both graduated from t...

A Wandering Spirit: November 2008
http://sophiemarian.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 17, 2008. This morning was the Inaugural San Antonio Rock n' Roll San Antonio Marathon/Half-Marathon. I did my first half-marathon in September of 2006 in Virginia Beach, and loved it! It was great the day, so of course I have to post pictures. Saturday Michelle, Stacy, and Stacy's sister, Shana, and I went to go pick-up our race packets - so of course we had to show off our race numbers. That night we gathered at the home of Sharon Boles for a pre-race pasta dinner. To me as I ran by th...
