Basically it's just pointing out the standard advice for a 401k that most investment books have, but which most people don't know. The basic points are:. Yep, I'm going to join the earliest I can, in January. 2) Take the Company Match. Check Planning on maxing out the 401k. The company's 401k provider is fidelity so those Freedom funds looks attractive. 6) Take It with You When You Change Jobs. Maxed out the Roth.

Thursday, December 01, 2005. My networth went up only slightly by $1400 this month to $54,717. This was due to me having some dental work done and also I paid off the overpriced airline tickets for christmas and thanksgiving on the CC. Saturday, March 04, 2006. It's been three months since I last posted and my networth has definately changed since then. I passed $60,000! In January, I was eligible to start contributing to my company's 401K plan. I elected to max it out for the year and DCA in $15,000. That brings it to a $1,250 monthly contribution.
