Five boys, five years apart, living in a place where a temperature of negative five means it's still warm enough for outdoor recess. Monday, December 29, 2014. I'll Be Home for Christmas. This year, we embraced having a Christmas at our home without the hassle of holiday travel. It was simple, and lovely and so fun. I enjoyed getting our house ready, putting up the Nativity and hanging stockings. After everything was done, we had the boys pose with their loot and we took video of them telling us about th...

Five boys, five years apart, living in a place where a temperature of negative five means it's still warm enough for outdoor recess. Sunday, January 18, 2015. Granted, it's probably not a word used in everyday parlance but I'm sure there are hundreds, nay thousands, of people each day who might text to a loved one, "Would you mind picking up a rotisserie chicken for dinner? Update January 2016: My phone no longer suggests "children" following the word rotisserie. It now suggests "chicken", "? Second, if ...

Five boys, five years apart, living in a place where a temperature of negative five means it's still warm enough for outdoor recess. Sunday, July 26, 2015. Mine Your Own Business. The Broken Boot Gold Mine is definitely a tourist business and not so much a mining business but it was charming and cheap so we were happy to take a tour there on our last day in Deadwood. Can you tell who is the most excited to be going into the mine? HINT: It isn't David John). At one point, the tour guide turned all the lig...

Five boys, five years apart, living in a place where a temperature of negative five means it's still warm enough for outdoor recess. Sunday, July 26, 2015. We started our day with a snake show which the boys thought was pretty cool. I mean, who doesn't love seeing poisonous snakes trying to bite their handler? This snake tried to devour several of my children, starting with Elijah. Get out of there Bug! This boy loves to dig. Benjamin says he's being eaten by a docile giant tortoise! The next stop on our...

Five boys, five years apart, living in a place where a temperature of negative five means it's still warm enough for outdoor recess. Thursday, July 24, 2014. Summer Adventures Part 4: Denver Ho! Of course, we also had to hit the zoo while we were there. We saw several baby animals, fed the lorakeets and watched the hyenas during feeding time. The boys were fascinated by so many of the animals. Here are some of their favorite things we saw. Benjamin is utterly unconcerned by the presence of a deadly snake.

Yes, we're busy, and yes, our hands our full - but we're hanging on and having fun! Monday, September 29, 2014. Our Little Evil Genius. And has no conscience whatsoever. She's trouble. Right here in River City, or wherever we are. Here are just a few of the crimes she's committed this month alone:. Cracked raw eggs on the counter and floor. Devoured bags of marshmallows or chocolate chips that were hidden in the highest kitchen cupboard. Dumped out 3/4 of a new shampoo bottle. Dumped out the nutmeg.

Yes, we're busy, and yes, our hands our full - but we're hanging on and having fun! Monday, June 08, 2015. Sioux Falls and Ingalls homestead. So we survived camping in a tent through a major thunderstorm! Yes, we got a little wet and yes the wind sounded like the redcoats were attacking, but amazingly, all kids except baby L slept right through it! Falls park was awesome! It was a kids' climbing heaven and a paranoid parent's nightmare. Group shot from the observation tower:. Alisha B. Whitman. Fantastic...

Yes, we're busy, and yes, our hands our full - but we're hanging on and having fun! Tuesday, June 23, 2015. Whenever mouths come up, this girl says, "I have a bid (big) mouf and lots of teeth, see," and then opens further than you'd have ever thought possible. I was kinda confused when G kept pointing at Woody and insisting that he was "a dondey." Finally realized she meant cowboy. Good to know that donkey = cowboy. Lucy bit my tongue." What? I ouched myself mom.". Look mom, my belly! Look G, here's mine!

Yes, we're busy, and yes, our hands our full - but we're hanging on and having fun! Saturday, June 06, 2015. FAVORITE THINGS SAID IN DAY 1 OF THE ROAD TRIP -. G: Lucy keeps adorable with me and I don't want her to! I: My bum bum is so mad that it can't get out of this seat! G: Are we at vacation yet? G: I don't like her (baby L) bc she's creepy. Now on to our campground with the 100% chance of "strong thunderstorm" rolling in! PS It rolled in. Oi. Posted by Alisha B. Whitman. Alisha B. Whitman. Mall of A...

Yes, we're busy, and yes, our hands our full - but we're hanging on and having fun! Monday, October 06, 2014. Papa and the park. In the fall, Papa came to visit and help out a bit for a week. It was so nice having him here - the dishes have never been so clean! On his last night, we took advantage of the won't-be-warm-for-much-longer weather and headed over to our state park for some bonfire fun. Everybody was pretty excited! Did I mention how helpful it was to have an extra set of hands? Big Red or "J".

Yes, we're busy, and yes, our hands our full - but we're hanging on and having fun! Wednesday, March 12, 2014. Dude went to the dentist for the first time Monday! He wasn't completely thrilled by the arrangement as his slightly pained, I'm-too-cool-for-this look clearly said:. But they turned his personal tv to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and he pretty much zoned everything else out (when daddy asked what the dentist did, he stated flatly, nothing), although he does appear to be eyeing her instrument here.

Yes, we're busy, and yes, our hands our full - but we're hanging on and having fun! Friday, June 26, 2015. A couple of last things from our epic trip before they are lost to the scary recesses of my ever-dwindling intellect, starting with this happy picture of our sightless brood (minus a sleeping G who tragically slept through every s'more-making party we had, poor thing):. They should consider labeling it that to avoid possible confusion! Bottom line is we did it! Posted by Alisha B. Whitman. No I mean...

Yes, we're busy, and yes, our hands our full - but we're hanging on and having fun! Thursday, July 24, 2014. Despite the grumpy face from Mr. Cantankerous, the kids have been in love with Legos lately. Like I might as well just get rid of every other toy because it's the only thing they play with. Ooooh, imagine how clean my house could be if I actually did that? G had no issue with it and went straight to work building the biggest tower ever. Fortunately he got over it and built one of his monsters:.

Yes, we're busy, and yes, our hands our full - but we're hanging on and having fun! Tuesday, June 09, 2015. Mall of America madness. Favorite child for the day - the one to sleep in the longest! Everybody up. Time to eat! As we got in the car to finally leave, G said, "I buttled! Bc if I didn't, I would pop through the walls and windows and I would die. I don't want to do that! It was over-stimulation at its best! L was a big fan of the carousel too. Such a big kid! One of dude's first rides was the ghost.
