Muzikos instrumentų gamyba susidomėjau prieš 20 metų, studijuodamas liaudies muziką Lietuvos muzikos akademijoje. Liaudies instrumentų eksperimentinės laboratorijos vedėjui Zigmui Armonui pasiūlius, pradėjau dirbti jo vadovaujamose muzikos instrumentų dirbtuvėse. Išstudijavau ne tik Lietuvos muziejų fonduose saugomus instrumentus, bet ir latvių, estų, karelų, rusų, suomių muziejų fonduose esamus muzikos instrumentus.
