Wednesday, February 26, 2014. What We Do For Fun. I'm a little bit country AND a little bit rock n roll. And seeing as there is absolutely no rockin' or rollin' to do in Coshocton County right now I'm tapping into my other half! When my mom invited me to Amish country for a quilting retreat with her, I leapt at the opportunity. We arrived to Mrs. Miller's Cabin in Charm, Ohio ( so quaint, right? The next few days were filled with projects, laughter, sharing, good food and rest. I discovered that I do...

Following Malabar: October 2013

http://www.followingmalabar.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html

Wednesday, October 30, 2013. Monterey to Morro Bay. It was sort of sad to sail away from Monterey, but as we headed out to sea and into the overcast sky at 4pm the sadness melted into anxiety pretty quickly. Keegan and I embarked on our first overnight leg. A 20 hour trip to Morro Bay. After total darkness had fallen Poseidon set us a reassurance as the boat cut thru the water and the seas began to light up a bright, sparkling green. We were traveling thru phosphorescence. A wonderful treat that ...Short...

Monday, October 15, 2012. To Things That Go Right. But all of this means that we are one step closer to making our move to Malabar. I'll admit that this pushed me just a little bit over the edge. We've been working so hard with very little sleep the last two weeks and the thought of moving onto a boat without refrigeration, or lighting for that matter, was just enough to provoke my first boat breakdown! BUT, (don't you just love buts? This is a blog about the things that go right! New Cushions in V-berth.

Following Malabar: Oh What a Month!

http://www.followingmalabar.blogspot.com/2014/02/oh-what-month.html

Tuesday, February 4, 2014. Oh What a Month! One month ago, 30 short days, we were on a boat heading north. After celebrating New Years with some fellow cruisers in Turtle Bay we spent an entire day running jerry jugs of diesel from the world's most dangerous diesel dock to our boat, then began our long, slow journey to Ensenada. After two days of tequila tasting, Cuban cigar smoking and dress buying we again headed north and made the 12 hour trip to San Diego, our destination port. Dawn to dusk for 11 st...

Following Malabar: July 2013

http://www.followingmalabar.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html

Tuesday, July 23, 2013. We Have to Move What? When you read articles about re-packing a stuffing box they never include the words, "then tie a rope around your engine and yank it forward 3". But, that is what we were faced with as last weekend's project inched forward. Removing the old packing material and replacing it with new should be a simple job, but what fun would that be? Thanks for saving the day, again, Tradewinds! Engine compartment access is.a challenge. Where propeller shaft meets transmission.

Glady's Gab on Quilts and Quotes: Quilt Gardens and Shipshewana Quilt Show

http://gladysgab.blogspot.com/2015/07/quilt-gardens-and-shipshewana-quilt-show.html

Glady's Gab on Quilts and Quotes. Thursday, July 2, 2015. Quilt Gardens and Shipshewana Quilt Show. In my last post, I featured the quilts from the Hostetler Hudson Auto Museum in the Shipshewana Town Center. In the other half of the building was a quilt show; Barbie and I enjoyed seeing the quilts and visiting the vendors, of course! This picture was taken in front of a quilt mural that we found on our shop hop. Isn't it a coincidence that we happen to match the colors? A state of the art bus parked nex...

Thursday, June 4, 2015. The house was quiet, today, while both the boys were sleeping. I was sitting at the computer and Cambrie was busily playing on the couch. Suddenly, she looked up from her dolls and asked me, “Mommy, when you and Daddy were going to get married and going to live in your house together…when you first got married and were going to live in that house, was it sad? My thoughtful girl, treading softly, hoping to touch a bird. Was it hard for you? What makes you think it would be sad?

Simple thoughts...

I hope this simple blog beams light on the great things in my life, and grants me the ability to be more thankful for life and love - I hope to document small instances of joy or sorrow, love and loss, and give a little piece of myself to anyone who is willing to read. We’re talking…. President Obama doing the NC State Wolfpack hand gesture. Not sure how I missed this but THANKS MY LANA LOVE! Flowers from my birthday, still bright and beautiful. On my way home from a very long day of work…. Daylight savi...
