Our Little Russian Peanut: June 2012
http://russianpeanut.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 22, 2012. To be outside. They. To go for walks which ultimately means we wind up at the lake. Winding up at the lake during our walk means that we have no bathing suits. Having no bathing suits means I give in and the kids go in the lake in the their shorts. In order to avoid the above scenario, one day we decided to go on a nature walk. (Okay, okay, I. I could just put them in bathing suits but. To go to the lake requires a lot more… ummm. 160; Of course, while we were out and about I ...

Our Little Russian Peanut: August 2010
http://russianpeanut.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 8, 2010. The first day of Kindergarten went splendidly. Andrew was SO excited and he even came home with a smiley face in his agenda. Of course, on day two he came home with a smiley face and a note that read “Was very talkative until he was given a warning”. Yep, my son is a chatterbox and is already testing the waters. :-). Without further ado… pictures from the first day of Kindergarten! Waking up… slowly! Big smile from my big boy! Walking to school with dad. Links to this post.

Our Little Russian Peanut: June 2011
http://russianpeanut.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 28, 2011. Nail biting… lots of nail biting going on. First, thanks for the nice comments on my last post. And thanks for not calling us crazy. As I am finding out, the China process is much different than the Russian process. Same “bones” but many different details. We still have to do home study and dossier, but the requirements are different. The dossier is MUCH smaller, but the authentication process is quite different (and more expensive). China is a Hague Convention. 160; Oh yeah, ...

Our Little Russian Peanut: January 2012
http://russianpeanut.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 28, 2012. To visit or not to visit. We can request to visit Nathan’s orphanage. The SWI (Social Welfare Institute) has to approve our visit, but from what I understand they are usually pretty open to having guests. I’m hesitant to do this though. 160; Instant parent, just add water. 160; For a 3 1/2 year old, that has got to be torture, wouldn’t you think? What do you think? Are we missing out on an opportunity? Next up: Confirmed travel dates on Monday, we hope! Links to this post.

Our Little Russian Peanut: September 2010
http://russianpeanut.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 27, 2010. My name is Becky and I’m a control freak. I like to control, umm… everything. Except for deciding where to go for dinner – too much pressure. Everything else is fair game. One thing that I’m not so proud of is my need to control Andrew’s discipline. I have a hard time standing back and letting Keith do his thing which in turn has caused Andrew to rebel against him and, quite honestly, be disrespectful. Had to sit at the table. The meltdown was much bigger than it normally ...

Our Little Russian Peanut: August 2011
http://russianpeanut.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 29, 2011. Don’t count your chickens…. Waiting for that lovely document from USCIS in the mail. I don’t think we’re going to make our agencies cut off this week for sending our dossier to China. Bummer, huh? 160; So, maybe we won’t make the 10/1 date? 160; Who knows, but oddly enough, I don’t feel panicked about it. So, so terribly odd for me – I panic over most everything! 160; Oh wait, Monday is a holiday. That leaves Tuesday. Yikes. Okay… maybe now I’m a little panicked. We are now ...

Our Little Russian Peanut: November 2011
http://russianpeanut.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 30, 2011. So, now what? 160; Now, we get our approval in the mail and the NVC (National Visa Center) gets a copy as well. They issue another something or another (that’s the technical term) and then we officially send everything back to China and wait for our Article 5 which ultimately leads to our Consulate Appointment and Travel Approval! Or something like that) Wooohooo! Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving! Links to this post. Monday, November 14, 2011. I keep thinking I have ...

Our Little Russian Peanut: Take Me Out to the Ballgame
http://russianpeanut.blogspot.com/2012/07/take-me-out-to-ballgame.html
Monday, July 30, 2012. Take Me Out to the Ballgame. Decide to sign the kids up for summer baseball in this great, hot state of Georgia again, someone smack me. 160; Oh, what a great summer we have had playing baseball! Nathan, oh, Nathan. Andrew didn’t play ball at 3/4 years old and let me tell you, this was so much fun to watch! 160; He had so much fun and that is all that counts. I took some pics with my cellphone while at practice. Keith and I had to divide and conquer since they practiced/...Becky,...
