Absolute Franksy-ness: It's been a while, but we've actually got some adventure to share.
http://franksyness.blogspot.com/2012/12/its-been-while-but-weve-actually-got.html
Franksyness: n. the state of being franksy. Thursday, December 6, 2012. It's been a while, but we've actually got some adventure to share. Does my son intimidate me? You're only supposed to see fish like this in an aquarium. This almost captures how pretty it was. They call it 'Snoopy Island' for obvious reasons. It seems the only time I get in picture is when someone wants to make fun of me. I will miss the camels. Yup, that's a camel staring at us from that truck. December 6, 2012 at 11:56 PM. The view...
Absolute Franksy-ness: September 2011
http://franksyness.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Franksyness: n. the state of being franksy. Saturday, September 17, 2011. Photo booth, the real reason we needed a new Mac. Recently I bought a new computer. It's a sleek and shiny new iMac, a beautiful thing really, but purchasing it wasn't nearly as fun as it should be. It's hard to enjoy replacing things you never wanted to replace in the first place. And, on a final note, Julie and I just finished reading Willpower: Rediscovering the Greatest Human Strength. Friday, September 2, 2011. Perhaps the tra...
Absolute Franksy-ness: January 2012
http://franksyness.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Franksyness: n. the state of being franksy. Thursday, January 5, 2012. Nothing says Christmas like Santa Yoda! Christmas was low key in the best of ways. There were a few presents in the morning and some skyping with family. In the evening we shared dinner with some friends of ours. The focus was where it needed to be. Miranda summed things up best when she said that her favourite part of Christmas was watching other people open up the gifts she had made for them. For some reason, I don't miss that part.
Absolute Franksy-ness: No One Sends Postcards from Limbo

Franksyness: n. the state of being franksy. Saturday, December 28, 2013. No One Sends Postcards from Limbo. Mesa Arizona, October 2013 - In limbo and happy about it (Miranda mores than anyone). One of our last family shots in Abu Dhabi. Too many friends left behind to count. After a few delays, we were together again by the end of June. One of the things that kept us sane was Tae Kwon Do a couple of times a week. I found out my work authorization was approved. On Monday the 25. I know I’m still in ...

Franksyness: n. the state of being franksy. Thursday, June 6, 2013. Divided but not conquered. A view of Al Ain. It is possible to have too much space. Miranda making the most of the outdoors. My kids missed the snow. It's a point of disagreement for us. See what I mean about the green? There are a few pics below of what we've been up to the last few months. It's flown by. The Al Ain Zoo. Savoring The "Moments": April 2014
http://jjdenning.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 3, 2014. Something big took place around here. I mean BIG. The other day I asked Hannah about her thumb sucking situation. I told her the dentist said that it wasn't likely she could stop sucking her thumb without giving up her comfort item: her blankie. We wrote down several routes that she could take in preparation for the big event, and the one she chose? I could hardly believe it myself. So we planned a big shin-dig. After I got her all excited and pumped. So we cried some more. David...
Savoring The "Moments": February 2014

Thursday, February 13, 2014. Drew had his pinewood derby a few weeks ago. And, I think he did an awesome job on his car. He designed it, he even cut it out all by himself, sanded it, painted it, did everything. I was so impressed! He did a great job! It wasn't the fastest one out there (that competition is stiff! But I thought he did such a great job and learned a lot. Along the way. Way to go Drew! He also worked on a Native American art project and did an awesome job. Here is the work in progress:.
Mothering Simply: Spring Break Camping!
http://thepachamama.blogspot.com/2013/04/spring-break-capming.html
Saturday, April 20, 2013. We had a fun Spring Break adventure of camping down the Oregon Coast. Thanks to Jason's tarp set-up we stayed mostly dry during the downpours! This was taken at Cape Disappointment before we crossed into Oregon. Joshua has been studying about Lewis and Clark this year at school, so we made quite a few Lewis and Clark stops along our adventure. Jason and I at the Astoria Column. It was quite a view from the top and a little windy! Im so excited to see a post! Some people we know.
Savoring The "Moments": July 2013
http://jjdenning.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 24, 2013. While my sister was visiting us, one of the activities her daughter really wanted to do was have a lemonade stand. It pretty much went haywire from there and all the kids joined in creating their "business." They made posters, created menus, made 2 kinds of cookies, made regular and mint lemonade, and were exuberantly advertising their business: "Lemonade and cookies! Shouted at the top of their lungs! Business did pretty well in the beginning, with some fun stoppers by. We had ...

http://jjdenning.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 14, 2013. End of School, Summer begins! Two weeks ago, we got to say our farewells to school. Blessed day! I love summer. I love having the kids with me. I get just as excited as they do over our daily itineraries.good ol' summer vacation. We wrapped up school with a couple of performances by Madelyn: a singing program, and a school play. She did great and she does love to be on stage! I'm not sure why my pictures are weird. We've made a summer time bucket list in attempts to not hear "I'm b...

Friday, July 18, 2014. This was so long ago, details are fading.but I will do my best! During the Easter season this year, I was much more on the ball in certain areas. I finally got around to doing our yearly activities more spread through the week, so I wasn't trying to cram a bunch of stuff in in one or two days. The kids love doing these chickie cupcakes every year. And the Easter bunny came on Saturday morning.as we have wanted him to do for a few years! They were so excited! It was a great hunt!
Savoring The "Moments": Little Lady Lessons
http://jjdenning.blogspot.com/2014/09/little-lady-lessons.html
Tuesday, September 30, 2014. We've got a funny little tradition that has kind of stuck around here. In fact.it just kind of gets a little bigger every time. While the boys were away (scout day camp and work) the girls got a special invitation to come to "Little Lady Lessons." They found little invitations all rolled up and tied with a bow left on the doorstep after the doorbell rang. :). I secretly decorated while they were downstairs.and made mini smoothies and mini muffins. And they seem to enjoy it!

Savoring The "Moments": Sweeties
http://jjdenning.blogspot.com/2014/09/sweeties.html
Thursday, September 11, 2014. But there was a day in the summer when the morning got going, and I felt like I was the ONLY one cleaning. Not only were there children not cleaning and getting to their chores, but holy smokes, are they able to make a mess in NO time. So it was one of. And I was letting my kids know I wasn't happy about it. We have been helping a neighbor down the road with her garden and I told the kids I was going to go help her alone, and I would be back and the house better be clean!

Frank Synopsis
Tuesday, February 12, 2013. Okay One more time. NO WIRE HANGERS! The small apartment building I call home recently had its recycling privileges reinstated, after a three-year hiatus. I’m not familiar with specific criteria governing this disciplinary exclusion; but if there were rules to be broken, we broke them. And by “we,” I mean the occupants of the apartments surrounding mine. I’m sure they all have names. Who was walking up to the curb as I was walking away. Yeah. That. Guy I HATE THAT GUY. Fine Do...

Essays and ideas | A mantelpiece for some of my thoughts
A mantelpiece for some of my thoughts. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. September 7, 2014. When Thatcher and Reagan decided to smash the Unions, deindustrialize Britain, and change the West into a financial center, it was because they knew that the exporting nations, meaning Asia and the Middle East, were now on the leash of the US Dollar, driven by greed, desperate to save face, unwilling to lose their gains of the day in US paper. What’s backing those dollars? They instigated their o...
