In a small village 20-25 kilometers south-east of Angouleme, Misty and I stumbled across an old stone church from around the 14th century. While perhaps somewhat pedestrian compared to the much larger and more ornate city cathedrals, this church had a unique air about it. Is a territorial unit that was usually historically served by a local church. If you have already looked for the hidden content in the photo above, you can go the NEXT PAGE. Presenting the other quintessential French car, the Citroen DS. Though not as common as the 2CV, these cars could easily be found parked on side streets and rotting away in yards and fields in the country. In 1974 Peugeot S.A. acquired a 38.2% share of Citroen. In 1976 they increased their stake of the now bankrupt company to 89.95%, thus creating the PSA Group. 1. With the plethora of negative French stereotypes. In the American consciousness this maybe a fair question, and to be honest I had my reservations about the Frenchies. So with love on my heals, I was off to France armed with 2 apathetic years of high-school French and a lack of fear about my apparent inability to communicate. Explores intercultural differences and misunderstandings between the French and Americans. Of the photo journey, check out the PREVIOUS PAGE.

I currently find myself lucky enough to live on the edge of nowhere in Amesville. A tiny village in south-east Ohio endowed with a proper carryout, a mom-n-pop dinner, a post office, a bank (without an ATM), and a fine elementary school. Just a few miles up the road is what I consider my own personal recreation area, Gifford State Forest. The location the above picture was taken. Headed toward Paris, France, and my final destination Angouleme, France. At 320 acres, Gifford State Forest.

This statue by the side of the Angouleme town hall caught my eye and required a photo. Unfortunately I noted neither the sculptor or whom the figure is to be depicting. The majority of public art is sculpture. If you have already looked for the hidden content in the photo above, you can go the NEXT PAGE. Of the photo journey, check out the PREVIOUS PAGE. Here is another fine example of Angouleme's wall paintings, Le Jardin Extraordinaire. Translated as The Extraordinary Garden, this piece was drawn by Florence Cestac in 2001 and is over 1500 square feet in size. You can see all of Angouleme's wall murals HERE.
