September 28, 2010. 8212; by ewisniewski @ 10:00 pm. Our school district also has a technology support team that is very helpful. Any time there is a problem, they are available and very supportive. Our technology support teacher is constantly sending out learning links to help integrate technology into our lesson plans. I have used a few of them, and it definitely keeps me on my toes. It also motivates me and keeps the technology fresh in my classroom. Leave a Comment ». Feed for comments on this post.

I especially liked the idea of using Skype to connect with guest speakers. Also, the mentor to help teachers learn the technology is a great idea. Overall, I have my doubts, but if teachers were forced into the program, it would definitely help students. Kay, R. (2007). A formative analysis of how preservice teachers learn to sue technology.

October 3, 2010. Fear of Social Networking. 8212; by ewisniewski @ 6:40 pm. I can understand the administrators concern over appropriate use of the internet in schools. I have also dealt with students using the internet inappropriately in class. For example, instead of students working on their research projects, they were searching the internet for music. In my discussion group, I am reading the book. From Fear to Facebook. 1 Comment ». 8212; October 4, 2010 @ 3:32 pm. Feed for comments on this post.

September 27, 2010. 8212; by ewisniewski @ 11:45 pm. I was impressed and happy to hear that Secretary Duncan was more interested in seeing gains in student achievement instead of specific test scores. In high-poverty schools, teachers obviously feel the stress when it’s PSSA test time. By rewarding gains, teachers will be working towards an achievable goal instead of feeling overwhelmed. If this is true, this is a great assessment tool! Also, a dropout rate of virtually zero and a 97 percent attendance r...

I plan on doing my dissertation on the study of neuropsychology and how people learn. On the website, it covered several journal articles on the brain and also showed links for lesson plans. I will definitely be using this website in the future! Leave a Comment ». Feed for comments on this post. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
