Friday Afternoons was conceived as part of the Centenary celebrations of Aldeburgh Music’s founder, the composer, Benjamin Britten, with the initial aim of encouraging children and young people to sing. Since 2013, there have been more than 80,000 participants, from all around the world. We are thrilled that Jonathan Dove has written 12 new songs for the project with specially commissioned texts by Alasdair Middleton. These are now available from our Song Bank. The Doric Charitable Trust.

James is part of the creative team for Eastside Educational Trust, working to deliver creative arts projects in schools. From September-December 2016 James worked with Greatfields School. In Barking where he led creative music sessions and a choir for Year 7 pupils. The choir are involved in Aldeburgh Music’s Friday Afternoons. Y, quién me lo iba a decir, salté del sofá y me puse a prepararla. ¿Resultado? 10, por eso esta mañana, he hecho la foto de lo que quedaba después del desayuno y la publico inmediatamente! 250 gr de harina. 100 gr de azúcar. 1 pizca de sal.
