Oh Hey There by Amy. The MBTI Personality Test. So, I really like personality tests. I just think they are fun but also I think they are a great reminder that we are all different and that is ok. This world is awesome because it is filled with differences. Every year my student staff takes the following personality test and then we discuss it. I thought I would share with you what I teach and discuss with them. Take the test here: MBTI - Myers Briggs Test. Click here to find out. Sociable, Energized thro...

Oh Hey There by Amy: June 2015
http://heytherebyamy.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Oh Hey There by Amy. It won't work out and I'll try another path? Everything I have done so far in my life whether it worked out or not, I learned something from it and wouldn't want to trade the experience. Yeah, I'm getting older and it feels like I should just pick one safe path and stick with it, but then when you think of a life-span of 100 years. I'm still a baby. Are you really going to let fear control and dominate that much? Here are some of the things in my life that I was terrified to even try...

Oh Hey There by Amy: May 2015
http://heytherebyamy.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Oh Hey There by Amy. Book Review: Peter Pan. Second star to the right and straight on 'til morning.". I'm plugging away at my 2015 reading list. Like an elephant, one bite at a time. The next book checked off the list is Peter Pan. Check! If growing up means it would be beneath my dignity to climb a tree, I'll never grow up". I'm not young enough to know everything.". We are all failures - at least the best of us are". God gave us memory so that we might have roses in December.". If you were to make a ti...

Oh Hey There by Amy: December 2014
http://heytherebyamy.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Oh Hey There by Amy. Book Reviews: The Selected Series. So I have my giant reading list for the year and three of the books I read this year were not from my reading list. Ha, figures. I think I aim too high. However, when I posted my reading list I asked for recommendations and my friend Leah. Recommended The Selection by Kiera Cass. I read it and away I went with the entire trilogy. Leah quoted it as "It's a quick, fun read with lots of romance-y-ness." She was right and I loved it. The group is narrow...

Oh Hey There by Amy. Blog Spotlight: A Very Fukui Family. I have a student worker in my office who is taking a business course where she is required to write a blog. The blog can be about anything. She has decided to write about the cultural differences between her upbringing and her husband's upbringing; he is half-Japanese. she is not. Go check out her blog and follow her: A Very Fukui Family. Book Review: The Giver. I think the "controlled society" is very "in" right now. The Hunger Games, Diverge...

Oh Hey There by Amy: 2015 You Will Be The Year That I Read!
http://heytherebyamy.blogspot.com/2015/01/2015-you-will-be-year-that-i-read.html
Oh Hey There by Amy. 2015 You Will Be The Year That I Read! This is getting sad, there are some books on this list that have been repeating on this list for YEARS. it's getting embarrassing. Here's the proof: 2014's List. Of course if someone wants to go to a movie or watch some TV while hanging out I'm ok with that but I need to stop spending the alone time that I sometimes crave by watching TV and instead do the things I always wish I made time for. Here's my reading list for the year:. 2015 You Will B...

Oh Hey There by Amy: August 2015
http://heytherebyamy.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Oh Hey There by Amy. Here are some favorite quotes (where you didn't have to be there to get it) from the Family Quote Book:. A shark waits for no one." -Nate while dunking me in the ocean while snorkeling. How do you spell 'triad'? Shouldn't a grownup know how to a spell? Kira (niece, 8-years-old at the time). That's bologna." - Nate. There's a rule. Nobody dies on this trip! Is there anything we can do to help? Someone could swear for me! Nate shops at Express for men! I have never shopped there!

Oh Hey There by Amy: Book Review: The Tipping Point
http://heytherebyamy.blogspot.com/2015/07/book-review-tipping-point.html
Oh Hey There by Amy. Book Review: The Tipping Point. That's right, I have read another book on my book reading list. For the year. Fist bump! I read The Tipping Point. This was an interesting book but I was bored at times as well. Some chapters I would found fascinating and then others would drag for me. One problem is the books that pull me in are usually fiction and fantasy and this one is non-fiction, literal, and to the point. The book is about what little things can lead to big changes.

Oh Hey There by Amy: Sometimes People ask me "Why?"
http://heytherebyamy.blogspot.com/2015/03/sometimes-people-ask-me-why.html
Oh Hey There by Amy. Sometimes People ask me "Why? So, I'm still single. And I'm ok with that. I mean, yes, I am very excited to be married and have kids, however, I'm not going to mope around until I find my guy. I haven't found him yet and until I do I will continue to live life, learn and grow. Reasons why I am probably still single. I rather hang out with my mom than go out and be social. Doesn't mean I don't make an effort to go out, I'm just kind of over the random crazy parties where you meet ...
