Practically Penniless: August 2016
http://www.practically-penniless.co.uk/2016_08_01_archive.html
Learning our way to a simpler, more frugal, environmentally aware and chemical free lifestyle. Saturday, 13 August 2016. The garden and allotment have been ticking over nicely the last month or so, and I'm very pleased with what we've managed to grow this year. We've had lots of nice cabbage, both the spring variety (Wheeler's Imperial) and the round head variety in Golden Acre. Peas have been a bit of a disaster but those we have had have been delicious. Cabbage donated by a fellow allotmenteer. My poor...

Learning our way to a simpler, more frugal, environmentally aware and chemical free lifestyle. Thursday, 31 March 2016. It's been a while since I posted anything, as quite frankly there's been nothing worth saying - so I haven't! Things have been going on in the background though and there have been plenty of seeds sown this year for growing on in the little growhouses at home waiting to be moved down to the allotment. Practically Penniless: June 2016
http://www.practically-penniless.co.uk/2016_06_01_archive.html

The bad back brigade managed to make it down to the allotment tonight, and there was some produce to harvest. Some plants down there are looking a bit sick though, and I have a strong suspicion my "dear neighbour" has been spraying something on his weeds which has drifted over onto my plot. I'm not a happy bunny about that. Thursday, 9 June 2016. I've been out of action for a while again a...

Practically Penniless: September 2016
http://www.practically-penniless.co.uk/2016_09_01_archive.html
Learning our way to a simpler, more frugal, environmentally aware and chemical free lifestyle. Tuesday, 20 September 2016. I've been practicing my crochet of late, a craft which has taken me many years of frustration to 'get' and I still wouldn't say I've managed to master it. A bit like my knitting, my technique isn't right at all and I'm sure crochet aficionados would frown at how I go about it, but the result works so I'm not too bothered! Saturday, 17 September 2016. Jam, glorious jam. Now though it'...
